Question about Dream Addresses

Luna gives you the DA and it stays the same unless she mentions that your DA has changed. And she won't change it often so yeah you keep the same DA. Just make sure you update it regularly and/or have someone to visit your dream town once in a while so it doesn't get deleted.. I've read that DA can be deleted or changed if you don't update for a while or no one visits the DA..
But then I had my DA changed once, in my both old & current town, even when I updated pretty often & had people dream about my town. Some people say it might be Nintendo server thing or due to people leavening negative feedbacks.. I'm really not sure how it works .__.

I`ve heard the DA can change whenever you insert the game cartridge into a second 3DS.

I have 5 towns and recently got a new router. Three of my towns addresses changed when I updated with the new router. I'm not 100% that the router is the reason, but I think it must be.
My main town, Joy has not been updated with the new router yet. I'm waiting for spring. I will be surprised if the code stays the same.

I think people who brought the game closer to the release date had more problems with DA change, but it usually is supposed to stay the same. As long as you are updating somewhat regularly or someone is visiting your dream town occassionally then your DA should not change as often. I'm not entirely sure that's the whole problem with the DA change, but you shouldn't really worry about it. The DA change shouldn't happen every single time you update just occassionally if the game cartridge is somewhat faulty or some other issue.

...Looking through this thread almost makes me thankful I haven't gotten into all the Dream Suite business yet. At first it seemed like a bunch of weird nonsense to me (dream towns? what even??? why not just visit normal towns) but I honestly know next to NOTHING about the Dream Towns and the process of visiting or maintaining one. So reading this thread just made me even more confused, lmao.

Dream addresses are meant to kinda permanently save your progress at whatever time you want. If you have a nice night with a meteor shower you can save then, or if you have cherry blossoms falling you can save then, there's lots of options, especially if you feel your town is nice to share, then share it. It doesn't have to be maintained or anything, it's just your choice to update it or not.
It's great and all that someone might be able to visit your town through FCs but it's not always great. People can steal and/or damage your town, so DAs are awesome for that. You can have people visit and do whatever without messing up the place and having it saved to your actual town.
Plus if you dream enough, you get the dream badges. If you intend to complete those, the dream suite is necessary. You also get inspiration from dream towns so if you visit a nice place with a really good idea on how to place a certain PWP for example, then that's useful. Some dreams might showcase some really awesome rooms and you wanna copy it. It might even have some tools or items you might not have yet and you try it out without having to ask permission, stuff like that. Dream towns also have QR codes that you can take from Wendell so if you wanted to unique pattern but you don't know how to make it yourself or can't find it online, then you can get it from the dream town. You can even update just to get the free bells. It's pretty simple and cool to visit some towns especially some of the towns on TBT, they're beautiful and you can enjoy how different people towns are at your own leisure.
