Question About Collectibles

Hello everyone!
So all my time I've been on TBT, I've never really understood the worth of collectibles, or cared really.
Now, I am low-key interested.
How are you supposed to know what each collectible is worth? Is there a post or something?
Collectibles are just for show, and you can't really do anything with them but sell, trade, and show off, correct?
Those are all of the questions I have for now, thank you!​

Collectibles are just for show, and you can't really do anything with them but sell, trade, and show off, correct?

You can gift it. And to me that's the only worth of collectibles. While you'd need to be sneaky and have to have actual transaction if you wanted to give someone a surprise gift in game, it's more possible to do it with using collectibles.
I'm not obsessed with these tiny pixels in any way, but they're memorabilia, of some people who I used to be good friends with.
