Question about clearing void

So if you visit somebody with 10 villagers you clear your void? But do you also run the risk of picking a villager up from their void? Or how does it work?

im pretty sure if their void isn't cleared as well, you do run that risk, but I'm not 100%. voids are annoying that way. :<
I'd say be on the safe side and have that person clear theirs too, because that way you've got the absolute best chance of not picking up anyone.​

It's really difficult isn't it .I wondered if that was the case. Didn't really understand it.
I might even just have to avoid doing anything online until I fill in this spot now

it is, it's a huge pain ;;
if you'd like, you can clear your void in my main town. I know for a fact my void's clear and has been for a long time c:​
