So I want to push my 3ds clock forward a bit to check if anyone has moved out of my town using a new save file.
However, since up until now, I've been using the in-game clock, will changing the 3ds clock actually have effect on the game or will it still load the time saved in-game?
I hope my question makes sense.
Thanks!

Changing the internal 3ds clock is overall better because time travelling ruins whatever you want to do for example if you want to plot reset a villager. It will change your game but just not save it before you load it up with a new save file.

As long as you use a new save file, don't save anything, and put the clock back to it's real time before logging in with your mayor, it's perfectly safe. Just pay attention when you are doing this around midnight because the day might go forward but it won't change back when you change the time.

Ugggh... really?
So basically it'll be pointless changing it as it won't show me anything new?

It will be affected. I accidently went on continue rather than new save file and it was 1 day ahead. It changes but just if you want something to change each time use a new save file.

But what I'm wondering is since up until now, I was changing the time within the game, will the 3ds clock actually still affect the time in the game?

So you're positive it'll change even if I've been using the in-game clock until now?

As long as there is a change in time from the moment you logged out it'll work. I never changed it through the game though. The only benefit that I could think of is that your other games, and your DS logbook, won't be affected by the change of time when done through AC:NL.

Yeah, I didn't want to meddle with with the 3ds clock because I was worried it would affect too many other games and things I have on my 3ds. This is why I've stuck to the in-game clock though I know most people don't recommend using it.

So once I set the time back again to the current date it won' screw up anything in my game, right?
Sorry guys, but I'm just really worried. :''')

I'm a little worried about 3ds telling me that changing the date will mess up my data logs and what not... ;___;

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Not if you change it back before you play anything else. Overall it won't have a big effect, at most it will say that you played games on future dates that haven't happened yet, but it won't actually effect you overall play time for any games.

And by "data logs" it literally just means the built in log app that tells you how much you play and stuff. It doesn't effect the data of any of your other games
