Question about auctions

I recently bid on a 7-11 set and thought that I had won because nobody posted any bids after me before the bid was supposed to end. But apparently, someone had sent a bid in the form of a PM instead of posting on the actual thread, so I lost the bid. Is that fair? If it is then I'm just wondering, cause I don't feel that it really is.

They had posted a thread in Re-Tail, and another identical thread in TBT Marketplace.

I bid on the Marketplace one and PM'd them, won, but then they sold it to someone else before I picked it up. Thank God I didnt pay them yet.

I hope you left them negative feedback. I know there is always the chance that by doing so they will retaliate and leave you negative feedback in return, but if that does occur, a message to a mod will soon rectify that problem.

If that happens again, you should give a negative feed-back. If it didn't say that bids through PM would be accepted then it wouldn't be fair.
