Question about adding a plot

1) Do I need to add a new plot in order to get villagers on my mystery island tour?

If so, I'm scared that I'll get a villager like Chow moving in without my permission.

It’s a catch 22 in a way because yes you need a plot to get villagers on mystery island tour But if you leave it and don’t fill it there is a possibility of a random moving in.

Basically this. Only put up a plot when you're going to dedicate finding a villager on those tours. I've had an empty plot stay empty for two days and Freya moved in on the third. Luckily, I like Freya so I got a freebie in this case.

I'm too afraid to leave things to chances. RNG is good to me when I go on mystery island but not when it come to random move in. Come to think of it, I haven't had a wolf villager since Wild World
