Question about a secondary character

I'm planning on making secondary character, not sure on the name yet, just to use him/her as "store stock". However, I want to know if I could just make and forget until I need him/her or if I really need use him/her and interact with the villagers?

wait are you asking for help with their name? or if you can still play normally on them, if so ya you can do the same things on secondary characters like talk to villagers/buy stuff/ plant things, but you can't build pwps. and maybe for their name use like our favorite tv show character? i named my second character beth from the walking dead lol

Yes, you can forget about them until you need them It won't affect the game. You can do everything from your mayor.

Yes you can forget abuut the alts - but they are useful for more than storage - for getting the 20 fortunes you need off Katrina to get her store open in Main Street, Saharah items, Brewster gyroids (working in cafe), if they have silver shovels they have the chance of an ore rock, for use in events.... list goes on - worth having but I don't feel guilty if I don't play them.

The villagers get mad because you don't talk to them on your ALTs but they only really mention it to the ALT when you play them. it doesn't affect anything else, accept maybe your villagers will ask about them frequently. I always get my villagers asking me "Oh do you know ____ I really want to get to know them!" or something like that, but it's not important. I used my ALTs as storage units and for pathways for a while but now I have all their houses themed and stuff so I find myself using them more, but I still don't really talk to my villagers with them.

Yes. I have a secondary character just to hold paths and I have never ran into a problem just loading them when I need them.

Yes! But like katysu said, they're really helpful when it comes to unlocking shops like Katrina's or getting Brewster's gyroids. The villagers will eventually wonder where the second character went, but other than that, gameplay won't be affected as long as you keep your mayor active.
