Question About a Moving Villager Rumor

So I just got a big shock - Peck told me Fang is thinking of moving! Yeah, okay no. Sorry bro, not about to happen.

Here's the thing though: he hasn't said anything. The second I heard this I sped off and talked to him several times... but he hasn't said anything!

Biskit just moved in yesterday (today was his first day "out"), so I know I have plenty of time to stop him, but I just want to know... I will have the option to have him stay right? I've never been caught in the rumors so I've never had to deal with this.

You have to wait for him to ping you.
Villagers won't bring up moving once in conversation.
Save and quit, or load up another character until he actually pings you.

Fang has to ping you.
You can try a different character each time you pass or the diving method.

Ah okay, I thought it was as if he had already pinged, and would mention "moving soon" in normal conversation. He just pinged, so I stopped him lol. Noob crisis averted.
