Question about 10th Villager

So my 10th villager is in boxes today and I'm sending him off to a friend of mine. The same friend of mine has Freya in boxes on the 10th, and I plan on going to pick her up when she's able to be claimed.

Problem is, I'm worried that between the time of my 10th villager moving out and me claiming Freya, I may spotpass somebody with a villager and they'll move in before Freya is even in boxes.

I suggested that she time travel, but she has Turnips and can't sell them at the moment, and she doesn't want them to rot.

Is there a way I can avoid a 10th villager moving in until Freya is ready to be picked up?

Keep your wifi switch off till the tenth and don't do any trades.
Make sure if you have someone taking your villager today that they haven't voided any villagers recently.

So going to somebody's town also opens up a chance for another villager to move in?

Also, why shouldn't they have voided a villager recently? Sorry about all the questions, I'm new to villager trading and I don't want to mess anything up. D:

Yes, any wifi-ing is a risk.
A voided villager means...someone had a villager moving, no one came to their town to take that villager, and therefore they went into the "void". If you visit or they visit you and recently had that villager voided then that villager can move into your town the next day or even a couple days after they've visited.

So you have to be careful doing trades, have people in your town in general, and any streetpasses. Which is why I suggest just not having your wifi on at all until you can go get the villager you want.

There's someone in the turnip prices thread in the train station board that has turnips selling for 503. Maybe your friend can send them a PM to arrange selling.
