QR Code Troubles (3DS XL)

Okay, I have a Limited Edition Yoshi 3DS XL my husband bought me. I have been chatting with cute little Sable for a couple weeks, and have unlocked the QR Code machine.

Now, I have been trying to scan codes with all my might and it seems like I am having HUGE issues. I am sure that the squares need to line up perfectly, but when I try to scan them from my computer to my 3DS I cannot get them to align whatsoever. (They're usually too wide or they're not wide enough.)

Is it my computer having the issue making the image too large, or is it my DS? I am thinking about giving up on trying to scan all together. Too much confusion!

I haven't had any issues scanning QR codes with the 3DS XL I have, although it's not a Limited Edition Yoshi one. I'm not sure what's causing the problem...

It may be that the images you were trying scan were too small. You zoomed in and aligned the squares but maybe the pixels became too stretched or whatnot for the 3ds to recognize? It would help of you showed us the images you were trying to scan. Someone might could edit them for you so that they are readable.

I think I may have figured it out! I have to hold the 3DS a little further than normal to get it to read, other than that things seem to be working swimmingly. Thank you all who commented trying to help me. I was always terrible at reading QR codes with a phone. It seems as though I am just as terrible with a 3DS.

3DS does that. For some reason the camera always works best a little extra far away.

My Yoshi XL is exactly the same, I reckon 1 in every 50 QR codes will actually scan, and it's nothing im doing wrong as I had no problem on my previous XL

I'm glad you managed to sort out your problem , I usually play on my silver XL as my main town is on that and I have to sometimes hold it at awkward angles to read a code.

My second XL is the Yoshi one (it's so cute :3) and I haven't had trouble scanning codes with it. Could it be some are too small or blurred?

I love mine <3 Also, I am scanning the codes from Tumblr, and they have pink backgrounds and decorations. So I am beginning to think that maybe there is a sort of interference from the backgrounds perhaps? If that makes any sense. I might try lowering the screen's brightness and see if that makes things a little easier. I feel like an old lady now. I used to be so tech savvy, then they came out with QR codes. All this new-fangled technology. XD
