PWP placement in relation to Event Plaza and player home

Hello,

I am planning out PWPs in my town and and I have heard that they cannot be place ?3 or 4? spaces away from the Event Plaza cobblestone. The location that I would want to have my bus stop would leave three empty spaces (diagonally) between the upper buffer corner of the bus stop to the furthest reaches of the plaza tiles. Similarly can I put a pwp as close to my house as I please granted that dead zones are respected? I?ve also seen varying opinions as to how far the dead zone extends on the player?s house.

Does anyone know the hard and fast rules on this? I could just ask Isabelle about every project individually in the morning otherwise.

Not sure about the plaza, but I'm pretty sure a PWP's extra space cannot overlap with any other structure's space. So, your house needs a one tile border around all sides except the front, where it needs two, and the PWP needs its own one tile border, so if you were to put a PWP to the side of a player house, there would have to be two spaces in-between the actual PWP and the house. This I can say for sure, since I have topiaries on both sides of one of my houses, and I'm pretty sure I specifically tried to have it one tile away from the house, which didn't work, so now it's two tiles away.

I used to have a streetlamp between my house and Town Hall. There are 5 spaces between the two buildings and it was centered so that means it was 2 spaces away from each. I think 2 spaces is the closest it can be to a building because you have to account for both buffer zones.

I had difficulty placing a PWP 4-5 spaces away from the Event Plaza cobblestone. I wanted the zen clock, which only takes up 1 space, between the Train Station cobblestone and the Event Plaza. I thought there should have been plenty of room because there's at least 6 spaces of grass between them, but no matter where I stood Isabelle always said no. So I don't know the exact rules on placement near the Event Plaza, but it seems to be a lot stricter. I'd suggest trying to place something of faily equivalent size if you don't have the bus stop yet and see if Isabelle will allow it. You can always cancel out of it.

Oh, wow thats really helpful because i was hoping to put a police station between my town hall and retail. I dont remember how many spaces, but it’s more than enough to accommodate the two-spaces-in-between rule.

On the other hand, now I am very nervous about my bus stop placement, but I’ll just have that be the pwp that I ask Isabelle for tomorrow morning. I will update this thread if I have any findings woth sharing.
