Purple Tulips?!

I've been trying to breed purple tulips but they seem so rare. Maybe I'm crossbreeding the wrong colors? I've seen different combinations on the internet so I'm not sure which to follow. :/

Do you have purple tulips? And if so, how did you get them? I've been trying orange tulips with other orange tulips but I read somewhere black and pink tulips also make purple?

In all seriousness I don't know how to breed for purple tulips. I only know how to breed roses lol.

Edit: Google's telling me red x red, red x orange, and (the obvious) purple x purple.

I got mine from orange and orange so I guess black and black or orange and orange works!

I got mine from black/orange and black/black. Once I got two purple, purple/purple worked the best for me giving me an off spring on a daily basis as long as I watered them.

I find trying to breed my own exciting however it can be tedious if you are unsuccessful. If you are fed up of trying I can give you 2-3 purple and you can take it from there...

This is random but I got mine because i had not logged on in a while so I did the weeding mini game and Leif gave me one!

I have about five purple tulips, but I can't remember how I got them. I think red/red, but I'm not 100% sure.

I got mine from 2 orange. Then breeding an orange & purple. Used the golden shovel, golden watering can & fertilizer.
I'm going to try black & black as that may help me get more faster.
