Purple and pink plants?

I've been noting down what my villagers would like for Toy Day, but I found something weird. Apple said that she would like something purple, but then she said she wanted a plant! Are there any purple plants in New Leaf? Also, Bam said that he wanted a pink plant. Can you give villagers flowers or is it just house plants? Because I don't think there's any pink or purple house plants. Please help!
