I recently purchased a 3DS a few days ago from Kmart/Sears. I had a few giftcards that from a roundtrip to San Diego this summer, and I decided to put them to good use.

I had no intentions on purchasing a 3DS until X&Y was announced, but my thinking has changed. I'll probably purchase a JAP one unless a cheaper flashcart comes out that supports multiple games on one mini SD card.

Feel free to name some titles, I'll probably rent them if they're on GameFly.

Fire Emblem Awakening comes to mind, it's my most played game on the 3DS by far. After that there's the Atlus JRPG stuff, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Soul Hackers and the Devil Survivor Overclocked stuff.

my top fav 3DS games
1 - Animal crossing new leaf
2 - mario kart 7
3 - donkey kong country returns 3d
4 - zelda ocarina of time
5 - new super mario bros 2
6 - pilotwings resort
7 - tom clancys ghost recon
8 - luigis mansion
and
9 - professor layton and the miracle mask

I put those games in my queue.

Luigi's Mansion was something I am tempting to pick up. Other games I do not find that interesting besides Ocarina.

Yeah I would skip most of the Nintendo stuff, MK7 got boring fast and NSMB2 ismore of the same. Pilotwings was a $40 that should have been a $5 tech demo. Really the last three in the list are worth getting.

Other than some of the titles already listed (Fire Emblem, Shin Megami, Ocarina of Time, etc.) I'd really recommend Mario and Luigi Dream Team. It's really fun and has a long story to keep you busy for a while.

Some others...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Resident Evil: Revelations
Super Mario 3D Land

Wow we enjoy the same games! ^_^ (People I know don't know any of those games v_v)

In addition to this list, I'd like to add Pokemon as well. I'm looking forward to Pokemon X/Y in October!

No Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward fans here...? Other than that I don't have any suggestions that haven't been mentioned already. Faves are Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem. The remake of Star Fox 64 is also really good if you like the original game. Oh, and Tales of the Abyss 3D :o

Square is to old school JRPGs what Atlus is to modern JRPGs...geniuses!

It sort of depends on your taste. ACNL is a must-buy, obviously, but these are things I recommend picking up or waiting for:

1. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team
2. Fire Emblem: Awakening
3. Pokemon X/Y
4. Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

That's about it from me.

Get mario kart 7 and we can all play mario kart monday together.

I also highly recommended Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Ocarina of Time which includes the original and the master version. If you like harvest moon games, A New Beginning is a great game.

The Zero Escape series is fantastic, in my opinion, but I would strongly recommend playing 999 first, or at least watching some playthrough of it online, for story reasons. It's totally possible to jump straight into VLR, but I feel like my enjoyment of the game was amplified by the fact I had played 999 prior to it.

If you like puzzles and visual novels, get Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, but do not play this until you finish 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors for Nintendo DS, VLR spoils critical parts of 9 9 9. They're both TEXT HEAVY, so expect to spend a good time reading. If you're okay with that, you'll have a couple games with an amazing story, memorable characters, fun puzzles, a great OST and replay value.

I'm about to check how much I have in my bank account, probably going to go to a used gamestore and purchase the following games:

  • Luigi's Mansion
  • Mario Kart

I had forgotten about the 3DS version. Got it on Vita myself so I kinda forget this version exists.

I decided to pick up a copy of Luigi's Mansion today, and probably will purchase a few more titles soon.

Oh yeah, certainly. Wouldn't be nearly as rewarding (no pun intended) without having played 999. Don't know why I didn't think of that. But hey, the 3DS does play DS games too, so... get 999, OP? XD But the DS library opens a whole other can of worms. So many great games...
