Public Building Works for beginners - advice please!

I've hardly been on AC this week because of work but I have managed to get my first two public buildings done - a fountain and a bridge.

I'm not really sure what to build next though. I've only been playing a few weeks and I'm still learning a lot.

So I have a few questions!

1. What are the best building projects that I will find useful? Is a campsite any good or is it not just like having an extra villager?

2. How do I get new things unlocked. I know visitors have to request them but mine haven't asked for anything yet. I'd love a flower arch ... is there a specific villager who has to ask for this?

3. What were the first three public works projects you built (and are they still in your town now)?

Yes, campsite is good. That one and the police office I suggest highly!

Yes the flower arch is suggested by normal villagers I believe. Also getting them to request is just random.

I built a bridge and a campsite. My bridge is gone as I upgraded as they kept requesting newer bridges but I can't tear down my campsite which sucks bc I picked the wrong place for it

I`m not too experienced with PWPs yet either but!

1.) All the permanants imo. Bridges too. The campsite has been my main source for villagers I want, but I`ve been extremely lucky with it. Some people regret building it because of the space it takes and the fact that they have to stare at an arms length at a cute camper when they hit their 10 cap (my greatest fear oh gosh I was unable to get whitney due to this)

Otherwise, anything that contributes to your town theme!

2.) I believe the flower arch is requested by normal villagers. To get requests, just run around until they ping and go up to you to request.

I`ve heard the diving trick (use wetsuit to dive to corner, wait 5-10 mins, run around for a ping) is hit or miss in success but it`s worth a shot!

3.) My first was the reset center haha; I love the resetti brothers so I think it`s really neat. My first non-perma asides from bridges was the lighthouse. I have an odd obsession with lighthouses so hhh but the windmill is really cute too.

personally, i really like the campsite! you can play games with the campers and sometimes a villager you really like will come by and you can invite them to live in your town! i also think both the orange tent and iglo look very cute visually

fountain, street lamp.. and a bridge i think? only the fountain is still there but i'm planning on demolishing it.

The campsite is great to get new villagers. They will come camp in your town for a day and if you like the villager, you can invite them to live in your time. It takes some time and they will probably say no in the first or second try, but keep trying!
The policestation is also quite nice! The officer, Copper or Booker, will tell you if there is anything new in town(special visitors, things like that) and you can pick up, if you are lucky, rare furniture pieces like the cardboard series and maybe even the sloppy series
The caf? is nice too You can drop by and drink a cup of coffee, talk to other guests and serve coffee for Brewster
Dream Suite and Club LOL are also PWP's and they are really nice, especially the Dream Suite!


You can get one PWP request per day. They are completely random! Some PWP's get suggested by certain villagers, others can be suggested by all But if you are looking for new requests for bridges, you will have to have 1 or 2 bridges. They wont suggest new bridges if you have 3.

I built the campsite, a new bridge and the Dream Suite, I think. I have demolished the bridge, but the others are still there. I'm slowly gathering the PWP's I need and building them Just got the illuminated heart from Rosie the other day! I love that one <3

I would highly suggest the campsite. It looks great in April around all of the cherry blossoms!
Ok, now different types of villager suggest different things, for example, Lily, a normal frog, suggests the outdoor chair, and drift, a jock frog suggests the jungle gym. Only they can suggest it, them and the people like them. Understand?
I got a bridge, a bench and Museum 2f first.

my first one was a fountain, don't ask why but i found it super cute ^^ i have yet to build campsite, i don't even plan to though.

Thanks everyone some great advice and really interesting finding out what other people built!

I might go with the campsite next then, I just worry it will be an eyesore and take up a lot of space.

You can either place it somewhere in a corner, where it's partially hidden or you can place it in an area where you can build around it A log bench, a hammock or perhaps a bonfire could spice things up and make the campsite look absolutely awesome!

I would also recommend that you build the Dream Suite - then you can go visit other towns and see how they have placed their PWP's and get inspiration ^__^
