PSA: Don't let villagers buy things from you!

Diana ran up to me and asked to buy my QA Birdwing Butterfly and without thinking, I said yes. I was excited by the fact that I've reached lvl 6 friendship. I haven't had a villager ask to from me before so I didn't think much of it.
Then, I went to her house and found this monstrosity out in the open:

I'm sooo annoyed haha. So don't let villagers buy random stuff from you, because they WILL display it in their house!

be careful w that bc you can display things on bug cages/fish tanks! dont give them anything small

I don't really mind if they display fish or bugs in their house if it looks nice in their home.
I mean if they start removing their furniture in order to place these things I'd mind, but overall I'm fine with it.

Maybe I just don't care as much about villagers' house aesthetics but I think it's cute when they display stuff like this. Admiral bought a carp and a surgeonfish from me and has them stacked on top of each other in his house, he's got little friends now

Plucky bought a flea from me and it's so adorable that it's kept in a little cup. Like she caught it and doesn't have the heart to kill it so she's gonna release it later.

I would feel the same, except that there is no rhyme or reason to the things they want. The game just randomly picks an item from your inventory for them to buy. That's why I'm annoyed

I'm so glad other people find this weird and annoying! I didn't realise straight away that they would display them and now a few of mine have random fish and bugs lurking in their houses
