Hi there, I've gotten so much helpful information from this forum over the years, so I wanted to give some back!
I'm not sure if this is common knowledge yet, but I've seen it spread around the internet that you can only plant up to either 10,000 bells for a 30,000 yield, or 30,000 for a 90,000 yield. I know this was the case in the old games, but you can now plant a 90,000 bell bag to get a 270,000 harvest. It does seem to be luck-based, though. I can't report on the exact chances, but out of three 90,000 bell trees I've planted; two have sprouted 270,000 bells each. The other was a dud that only had three 10,000 bell bags. Same rules as before apply; they don't grow back.
