Honestly, research both systems and see which one you think is more cool and you like better. Xbox has better online then PS3, but PS3 has better graphics and memory storage. Really, there's no better system. Another thing you should research are the games they have for them, are there games on the PS3 you like, or some on the 360? I can't really tell you what to get since I do not own an xbox but I've at least played one.

Anyway. I'd say try to get a PS3.
My reasons are the same as ricano4life's.
Also, try to see how many of your friends play the 360 or PS3, as the number of people around you who own console A or B might affect your decision.

I think that exclusive add ons for one console, when it's on others is stupid.
Giving it to one, and not the other is stupid.

Definitely get a PS3
In my opinion, Xbox is a good system, but with so many problems it gets, its not worth replacing it over and over again.

The ps3 has faults, and failures. But, oh well.
Nothing is perfect.
