I'm currently resetting and a having a single long beach is one of my goals, but I'm not sure if I really think it's worth continuously resetting to try and get, if that's the only thing I'm often dumping maps for.

What's your preference; connected with a small 'private beach' or two beaches with different ramps down separated by the waterfall?

I have the connected beach and, though I haven't tried the separate beaches, I think I'd prefer this one. It's much better for fishing and it's pretty cool having a private beach that you can only get to by swimming. Having said that, I still wouldn't dump a map solely for having separate beaches. I think there are more important things.

I have a private beach, and before I got the wet suit, my villagers would always tell me Gulliver washed up on the shore, but he was never on the big beach; he always washed up on the private beach. That always really bothered me, but once I got the wetsuit it stopped being an issue, so I guess that's kind of a con?

I personally love my private beach. I've used a path picnic blanket and stuff like that. I just find it to be a really cute feature.

I prefer connected beaches. :)

I'd hate having to run through town to get to another beach while ocean fishing.

I have a connected beach and love it, but I wouldn't mind having separate beaches either. When I start my second town soon I'll probs look for a map with separate beaches just for the sake of having something different. I'd say keep resetting if having a connected beach is important to you, but if you keep passing up otherwise great maps just because they have separate beaches, maybe reconsider?

I love having a connected beach, especially while ocean fishing. And it stores my flowers/hybrids so it's handy to just walk all along it rather than going up my beach and so forth. I have like a tiny private beach that's like.. 5x5 but I never visit it. It's got my tulip hybrids on c:

I'd prefer a connected beach but I have separate ones and can still make use of them. I like to use one of them for growing hybrids and other for fishing and whatever else. Also for some reason Gulliver only shows up on one of my beaches...I've gotten him like ten times and I've always found him on the beach I fish on, so that's convenient I guess but it's probably just a fluke.

After a visitor wrecked and stole my hybred flowers I kept a lot on my private beach as insurance for the future as they could only get to it if they had a swim suit so I like that.

That sounds really adorable, makes me wish I had a private beach ^-^

I have a huge long connected beach, and the river cuts like the top into a private beach. I bury my time capsules there xD I mean, as an aesthetic thing(is this even the right word? idk the idea is cool). I've never had Gulliver wash up there, but it wouldn't matter because wet suits.
Personally I don't think there is a huge con to a tiny private beach...(except Gulliver maybe, but preferences yo.) or any obvious cons to a long connected beach...

But imo, cons to separated beaches-> gotta go through town, make the trek :v walk more, like everyone said.

I have separate beaches.
Still don't like it, I did think a lot before choosing because I really wanted that map. But the beach was kinda ruining everything. Apart from having to look for Gulliver on both, it's not that bad. xD

Can't seem to make any of them as my private one, the one near my house has Tortimer and his boat and the other one, well its just too far from my house and they are also too big to be private to be honest with you.

Strange thing, I've never seen one of my villagers on the beach o.O

I have a connected beach and I love it because it makes fishing much easier. Though it wasn't a conscious choice when I picked my map, and I know separate beaches wouldn't have been a dealbreaker for me.

i like my two beaches! one is like a faux tropical island with loads of coconut trees (one day, i'll put a banana one).
i anticipate my other beach (near where my house is) to be filled with flowers and potentially an item storage area if - i mean, when, let's be real- it comes to that.

the idea of a private beach was very tempting, but i am much too lazy to be bothered to put on my wetsuit for that.

I honestly much prefer having two separate beaches. The thing is, having a private beach is really just an inconvenience for me, as I can't access it easily, and have no real use for it (too small).

I would say that you should wait for the map you find perfect to come along, though. After all, you'll be living in it.

Well I have separate beaches and I almost only visit the southern one so I guess connected would be kinda better for me? But I don't care that much about beaches, the town and river are much more important. Remember that wanting to have a private beach gives you less river => town layout options.

Although this does fit my town, I just have to come up with a good use for the eastern one. :P

I don't find "private beaches" that interesting.

I have a private beach. I don't really use it, but I like having it there because it's never really an inconvenience to me, and it just looks cool.

My first town has the two acessible beaches and that's okay but it does get tiring to run through town to get to either. Sometimes I use my wetsuit to swim from one to the other just to make life easier. My second town has the one long beach and a private beach that I use my wetsuit to get to. That is where Gulliver washes up. I plan to plant a couple of trees there, one banana and one coconut and to put some beach towels down. I placed my house right above this private beach so I could enjoy the view. I like both towns but both are very different from each other :)

I really hate private beaches because I feel as if they are a waste of space because I tend to breed hybrids on the beach and its a waste to have a beach that you can not doing anything on/ takes time to get their. With two beaches you can do so much like one beach could be a hybridding beach, one beach you could use to store items.

I have the two beaches by waterfall, and when I ocean fish I just put on my wetsuit and swim to the other beach.

I don't think it's that bad, all you have to do is press the a button a few times. And the item storing beach could be the private (I don't like doing that though even though I do lol). Whatever, everybody has different preferences.
