Has anyone heard of this?

I used to see it so much on ACC when they would sell villagers, basically it's when someone buys a villager like Marshal at lets say... 10 million? And then they sell him for 30 million, meaning they made 20 million bells profit.

I'm not sure if anyone does it here, but I see a big vary in the prices for marshal and other popular villagers.

I've heard of it, also heard some people get "high profile" villagers for free from cyclers and then sell them for millions... pretty rude.

If I sell a villager I put it up for auction so it's up to others what they want to pay for it but if I don't want a villager anymore who I got for free I will give him/her away myself too

I have had villagers from cyclers move out, but they've gone to good homes for free

I've got some from cyclers too or just from people who saw I wanted that one and asked me do you want him/her for free? Well to me it's only normal that if that villager should leave my town I give him away. It feels weird selling a villager you got for free. But the ones I paid for go up for auction

I guess anything is possible when it comes to the Animal Crossing "Slave Trade" LOL. I've only sold one villager that I had and that was only because I was really broke and wanted to build some Public Works but once I started raising hybrids and making money that way, I never sold a villager away ever again.

I always give them away to their new forever home.

Have you even looked at the villager trading plaza on here? That's how most people would make bells at one point, not sure about now since I barely play or check anymore.
I always used to either giveaway or trade mine, but now they just go into the abyss forever now.

I've voided all of mine so far but that's because nobody wants them :'( Poor unloved Egbert and Tipper. If my Marshal decides to move out, on the other hand, I am going to quietly find someone with him on their "dreamie" list and hand him over. Mostly I don't care what people do with the things, but the thought of giving away anything - villager, hybrid, some rare fancy item - and then seeing it immediately resold for megabux irritates me.

I know it sounds petty but someone did it to me with a pokemon back in the Diamond-Pearl days - begged me for a shiny voltorb I had, it was their favorite pokemon, they'd always wanted one etc, so what the heck, why not, I hand it over - ten minutes later on the same forum I see a thread "Shiny voltorb for trade, best offers". Well screw you too buddy.

it sucks but as long as people are willing to pay that much for a character, sellers will continue to demand these insane sums. it works both ways.
