I have 40 dollars in my account and those are two games that I'd want to play. Not sure which one to get though since I haven't played those 2 games but the previous were fun. I heard that PLvsPW was short soo not sure if I should get it or not. I'll also put other as I might be interested in other games

I read some old posts a while ago about Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright and it seems like some AA fans didn't like the PL parts very much and thought it was a bit simple. I haven't played it myself so I can't give you an opinion on it. If you already like AA and want to get to know some of the Professor Layton characters or if you're interested in both, you should get it.

The Trilogy is a compilation of the first games, adapted to the 3DS. If you've played other AA games and liked them, you should get it. Since it's three games in one, it's also pretty long.

If you've played a Professor Layton game before and a Phoenix Wright game before and liked both of them, go with Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. It's actually one of my personal favorites. If you're one for dark stories and magic, this is a must play game. On your playthrough, you will switch between Layton and Wright throughout the story. When you're on Laytons side of the story, you'll find hint coins and do logical puzzles. When you're on Wrights side of the story you are responsible for defending your clients and proving whether or not someone is innocent or guilty (which is a lot of fun but hard if you don't know what you're doing. If you don't know what to do with a Wright game, it's best to do the trilogy first to get a good handle on things).

Keep in mind these games are text heavy. You will be reading through almost the entire game (whether you pick Layton vs Wright or the trilogy). The Wright trilogy is a pretty good introduction to the Wright series if you've yet to play them. The cases that you solve are some of the most unique I'll say :)
