Are you a fan of the franchise? Which is your favourite game to date?

I personally favour the miracle mask the most. Not only is it in 3d and takes advantage of the new console features, but the animations of characters instead of just having a picture of them really adds to the whole game experience! Anybody else excited for the upcoming final game of the franchise? I am because of course it's a new addition to the franchise, but I'm also not because it also marks the end of Professor Layton :( (or does it?)

I love the professor Layton games. I like them all but I think I would favor the first one, because it was the first one I played and didn't know what to expect and it blew me away. When will the last one come? I hope in October/November when I have done all the daily puzzles.

Late 2013 or early 2014!
Yeah, I agree with you that the curious village had the biggest conclusion of all! Mechanical villagers? Who would've thought of that!

I love Professor Layton. -huggles him-
I have all the game and the movie. I remember I got the first one for my 13th birthday, and I loved it so much! My top favorite is probably Miracle Mask, though I also love Unwound Future. Diabolical Box is really sweet, too. :3 I love the puzzles and gameplay, but the stories are my favorite part! They always have touching endings (though I felt that the end of The Last Specter was pretty weak), and lovely stories that just make me happy. : D

I love Prof Layton, waiting on Miracle Mask to come down in price before I buy (AC has drained my pockets haha). I liked the first because it was something so different and new, but I was pretty sad with what happened to Loosha in the one before Miracle Mask (was that the Last Spectre, can't remember?)

This is one of my favorite game series... along with Zelda. I ended up coming across the first game when looking for something other than "shoot-'em-up" types. I'm a huge fan of logic puzzles, so figured I'd give it a shot. I was hooked well before I finished playing! I'm not sure which I'd say is my favorite, but the story in 'Unwound Future' was probably the most touching. I also love 'Miracle Mask', since it gives some more background for the characters. I'm both looking forward to the new game coming out, as well as dreading it, since it will be the last in the series.

Has anyone heard more on the collaboration with the Phoenix Wright game? And, while I'm on that subject, has anyone played the Ace Attorney games? Are they worth picking up?

Back to the Professor, I also have the movie, which was cute. This past winter, a dear friend of mine gave me plush dolls of both the Professor and Luke, which made me *squee* (I'm a 40-something, not generally given to that. Well, not as much as I'll admit to. ;D). I'd love to get my hands on the teacup and saucer that came out a while back, or even better, English translations of the books and manga. I really wish they'd do that!

The Ace Attorney games are a lot of fun. Some aren't that amazing, but they're definitely worth playing. If you enjoy the quirkiness of Layton (though AA is a bit more Japanese in nature), you'll love AA. Not too many puzzles, but the stories are fun to go through and the characters are just hilarious. Play the original trilogy (AA, JFA, and T&T), and Miles Edgeworth Investigations is pretty fun, along with Apollo Justice.

But you should definitely check out the Ace Attorney games. They're on the Wii Shop, too, for about ten bucks each, I think, which is a good deal. :3

Thank you for replying to my question so quickly! I'll check them out. It's too bad there aren't as many puzzles, but it's just as important to have a good story. It certainly seems to have become a big franchise; I even saw some manga volumes the last time I was in a B&N.

I've played all the Professor Layton games to date, and I can say that Unwound Future is my favourite, mainly because of the ending. T_T

If I were to rate the Professor Layton Games, it would be
Unwound Future > Miracle Mask > Diabolical Box > Spectre's Flute > Curious Village

I can say that I have a lot of fun playing these games, even though I'm not a puzzle pro. There were some frustrations like solving 6 peg solitaire puzzles (DB), a two-part slide puzzle (SF) and a 3x3 grid of horse tiles (MM), but nevertheless I got through them (with a little Gamefaqs admittedly.)

Regarding the Ace Attorney series, I've played all of them to date as well - I also recommend the series due to its quirky characters, great story and getting to finger point a whole lot of times.

If I were to rate the Ace Attorney Games, it would be
*gets mouth sealed shut*

The Ace Attorney HD trilogy is on iPhone/iOS now as well just FYI.
Played them a bit a few years ago, but got the trilogy on my iPhone and enjoying it so far.

I love Professor Layton! Puzzle games are awesome but when you pair them with Layton, what could be better? My favorite was the Diabolical Box but I also liked Miracle Mask and can't wait for the next release!

I love Professor Layton. My favourite PL game is definitely the Unwound Future. So sad. :C

I love the series! I really liked Professor Layton and the Last Specter though. The ending was so sad!

I took a REALLY QUICK PEEK at the ending of Azran Legacies. OMG. The ending. Heart-breaking. The song makes you want to bam your head on a wall! I felt so bad for Emmy near the end.

If it counts, Layton Brothers: Mystery Room would have to be the BEST. Alfendi Layton can be soo.... weird? "Stop bickering or I'll cut your tongues off!" His "multiple-personality problem" is definitely creepy. I wonder what the true background of Hershel's son is. The game mentions Hershel a bit. "Considering my father, who was an actual university professor, would not approve." Notice "was."

I looove Miracle Mask. The storyline was great, even though I thought the ending was a little obvious, but the puzzles were so much fun, and I loved The music too!

I have them all and the movie but I still love Curious Village the most! Now busy with 3ds Layton!
