Problems getting villager photos?

Hello I like to collect villager photos. Its the main reason I play the game lately. I use the method of filling my pockets and having stacks of fruit to give to my villagers everyday so that they will mail me their photos. I've noticed after a recent patch that I'm not receiving photos anymore ): and i'm really sad about it and wondering if my method is broken now? Is anyone else having this issue?

The fruit stack trick no longer works. I believe they bumped up the minimum value requirement to 750+, so instead of fruit it’s recommended to use Giant Clam stacks instead.

Try gift wrapping a stack of 2 foreign fruit. I believe that works yet, and is what I use to get my photos.

Would using plucked blue roses work as well? they sell for 1000 bells!

Would using plucked blue roses work as well? they sell for 1000 bells!

They should, but they will count towards a villager's inventory too, so they will display the flower in their house. If you don't care about their house interior, plucked blue roses should work just as well.
