So, I've been playing ACNL for a while, and now the circle pad's partly stuck. If I try to move it in the top right corner, it won't go all the way to the edge, unless I forcefully push it. Is there anyway I could fix it without sending it in for repairs?
Mine is doing the same. It's easy to spin to the left, or any way in the left direction but as soon as I go to the right, I have to do it a bit harder than usual. It's not something that bothers me immensely but it's not as smooth as my other DS so it's a very noticeable difference. Gonna buy a can of compressed air to see if it helps.
ok not exactly sure what happened with yours but i had a problem with mine just last night where my circle pad felt so hard to control // i think i overdid it while playing ssb with a friend // and like when i turn it to the right it goes and when i let go, it still goes, same with left or any directions. and i compared my ds with my sister's and hers was so easy to use??? so i thought maybe my ds was really broken but idk i got mad so i tried every way i could to fix it somehow and i realized the circle pad button was too pressed inside. i guess ive been using it too much that i put too much pressure and it kinda went inwards so i pulled it up/outwards and i heard a click and now it's as smooth as new
I've never had this problem (I've always been light handed with things in general).
From 'common issues' I hear though, it could be the pad is pushed in a little bit on one side. The solution is often gently pulling the circle pad up (away from the console), or if need be, push it to where it's sticking and then pull.
Though it could also just as likely be dirt in the fitting. It doesn't really matter "how you've been holding it", this stuff still happens. You could be controlling it with a pair of chopsticks and not actually ever touch the DS with your own hands, it could still get dirt in there.
I would try spinning the circle pad around (prioritizing that area) and seeing if that dislodges any dirt.
STEP ONE: Take a cotton swab
STEP TWO: Wet it lightly
STEP THREE: Gently push the circle pad around and clean under it
STEP FOUR: Realize that this is a pretty good idea
