i don’t think that would stop nintendo from launching dlc, they do it with practically every game now. they can update everyone’s game so that there’s data for dlc exclusive villagers/furniture, but they could just make it that only those with the pass can obtain them (villagers can’t be invited, items can’t be dropped)

That may be, but again as I said, as long as Nintendo gives no further informations, take news with a grain of salt. We have no idea what will come next, but there will be some updates now with Bunny day and later Earth day.

it seems you were right about leif! idk if his store will be returning or if he’ll be a permanent npc but it appears that he’ll be returning next month for earth day :33

Reviving this thread in advance of the next update. I think we'll see Leif and possibly kicks, maybe even Label join the island full time (by leveling up friendship and upgrading the existing shops). Then they will be replaced in the town square by new traveling merchants - I hope they'd be Katrina and Brewster, and then eventually, in the next update, you'll work towards adding them full time and they'll be replaced by other visitors (maybe one day Digby with an HHA type role!)
I think there's also room in this theory for Redd to visit more often!

I would love for either Leif or Kicks to get their own shop! That would free up some slots in the special villagers visit cycle as well.

Maybe one day we'll also get the pelicans back. I miss them.
