for shading (depending how you wanted to do it) I'd have a tiny bit more difference between each shade (unless you were going for the blended look)
I'd make the body a bit more rectangular shaped and the legs longer
there's a good tutorial here on how to make bases click

However you have improved shading and colour palette wise :)

I was going for a more blended look! I ended up smudging a lot lmao. I do think I'm gonna try to darken up some areas tho.
I'm not sure what you meant by a more rectangular body but I did make the legs a little longer.

I drew a bit of a crappy example for the body, this is what I mean about the rectangle sorta shape :)

yeah that's more what I meant :)

I would widen the neck, unless that's part of your style.
noted & done, ty for the suggestion! it did look a little weird when i looked at it more.
i re-did a mayor pixel that i did at the start:

i know i still have a LOT to improve on but thanks for your suggestions so far!

Hm, from the looks of it, if you still want pointers on proportions, try shortening the neck by quite a bit. Unless that's the style you're aiming for. There's endless ways to stylize pixels.

Maybe the legs a little longer?
Making them longer kind of changed the look I was going for, but thank you for your suggestion!

I was considering it but wasn't sure if I should, so thank you for your comment!
Does this look a little more normal?
