Rollerblades were mentioned in another thread and I suddenly remembered how my Dad always used to take me to a roller rink near my gymnastics class when I was little. I remember the old clunky rental rollerskates, the lockers, the "DJ" in the booth (lol), the cheesy games with the giant inflatable die, the hokey pokey, the mediocre nachos, and when red vines were literal long, smooth ropes without the twirls. I remember how much I loved it and looked forward to it. I also loved gymnastics too (the foam pit was the best thing ever!) so it was a win win and just a really nice memory. How about you? :)

When I was around 7, I remember my 11 year old cousin and I were using an easy bake oven. I specifically remember it saying "Ages 9+" and me being like "Oh no! I can't use this!" And my cousin being like, "Dont worry, I got this." We also used to pretend we were mermaids! This thread made me think of some good laughs I've had, I'll have to post more when I get the chance!

There's an arcade place called iT'Z and I remember doing super well on the Wheel of Fortune game even though I was barely old to comprehend anything. Maybe 5, 6?

Also reminds me of how I played LCR for the first time while in Costa Rica. I was maybe 7? So, my sister was 4. She ended up winning the game and the money. Beginner's luck?

When l was 9 that year and my dentist came to our house to drop off this big gift basket, then my mom said that l won the contest of guessing how many peanuts in the jar. I remember it was 500, and l guessed that number because my birthday is December 5th, a 5!

I remember back in 2009-2011ish when I was in preschool, I would watch tv and play on the wii or computer for days before I would leave and my sisters were at school. I'd get right back to having a good time after I got back home.
reminds me of a time when i was actually happy ;v;

The morning I learned about our trip to Idaho falls: we were initially planning a trip to see a college for my older siblings, but that fell through so we instead were planning to go to an amusement park in that general area. However, my parents got the idea to see my older siblings birth town again (and visit some famous locations along the way). Note: before then I had NEVER gone to the western US and I was dying to go there. I got the news that we changed plans from my mom when we were going through McDonald’s for breakfast before a shopping trip. Needless to say I was beyond elated. That trip still is on the top of my favorite vacations (in spite of having a killer toothache for the first day and a half)!

Sometimes I think about this one time when I was 10-ish, I can’t remember for sure where my Mom, Grandma, and Uncle and I went that day, maybe the botanical gardens with my cousins? But it was a really fun day. We drove somewhere afterwards but I’m not sure if we went to my Grandma’s house. We went past these two office buildings that were called something like “the 400 center” and “the 500 center” and we joked about how the higher the number the fancier it was, and how fancy the 500 might be compared to the 400. I said “at the 500 center, you get your name engraved on the door in whatever font you want” and then my uncle said he wanted wingdings and then my mom was like “that’s how you get relocated to the 200 center” XD

I also saw a blimp that day, over a random field. There are only 25 blimps in the world, whenever I think about blimps I think of that one time I saw one, and how rare that must be. Oh, and we parked outside an abandoned sears for a short time. That was weird, it was just this huge concrete structure with no trace of human light out in the sunshine in a huge parking lot.

I'm not good at describing memories so I'll do this instead. I tried my best to order them by time period but it's not perfect.
Good memories of things I won't get to experience ever again:
-I remember having one of the original Furbys and then for Christmas I got another one and I remember taking the first Furby with me to the tree to go meet the new one. I don't have either of them anymore. This was definitely during the 90s.
-The feeling of excitement when I would go to McDonald's to get Neopets plushies or whatever (2004-2005)
-All the times I got to stay at my great aunt's house (I miss her)
-This one website I joined in 2008 used to be mostly themed around Pokemon and other stuff. It moved onto original content which isn't a bad thing but sometimes I wish I could go back in time and experience it again. They've also had a lot of events that only happened once or just weren't the same when they came back...
-The experience of playing the Nintendo DS for the first time. Pokemon Diamond, New Super Mario Bros... Things felt so different back then.
-Finding my first shiny in Pokemon Diamond, a Staravia
-I miss the days where I had gotten into Tamagotchi and I could go online and play this thing called Tamatown. I also miss my original V4.5 Tamagotchi. The buttons on it have stopped working and I had it since middle school...
-I used to play Club Penguin and I was really into the secret agent part of it. I loved the fact that the two DS games were connected to the story and it was so exciting when a character introduced in the first DS game showed up on the website.
-There was this one Pokemon fan site I used to play that shut down several years ago due to server costs. I believe it shut down during Gen 6 or something? I have fond memories of it and wish I could still play.
-This may sound weird but I'm getting nostalgic for the Wii U.
Miiverse... Seeing my sister play Splatoon (Surprise, I didn't play it).
Mine also doesn't work at the moment. (I need to fix that)
-Getting to see the all character reveals for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS and Ultimate is something I'll never experience again but gosh, it was so exciting.
-Lastly, nobody will understand unless they were there, but blindly experiencing Deltarune Chapter 1. Toby Fox basically just released a mysterious program and said nobody could talk about it for a certain amount of time. It turned out to be Deltarune and I remember watching my sister play it that day. It was on Halloween. I remember it very well.

When I was 5-ish, my friend was obsessed with Pippi Longstocking. Whenever we watched the Pippi Longstocking pirate movie, we took the cushions off their couch and hopped around on it, pretending it was a pirate ship and some islands. I didn’t have any interest in the movie but the game was literally the most fun thing ever. One time, we were going to watch Monsters, inc. but I was scared to. My mom tried to convince me that they were cute and friendly, but I still had hesitations. Then, my friend said, “close your eyes, I’ll pick out something else!” and I had a real good feeling. I opened my eyes and there, in their hands, was the glorious Pippi Longstocking pirate VHS. One of my favorite memories…though I have a lot of favorites! XD

One of my favorite childhood memories of my friend is when were playing this game and I nearly died of laughter when she just pressed three random buttons on my alarm clock/radio and made static come on, I have no clue how she did that, or what she was expecting but she did it like she knew what she was doing and it made me laugh so hard (we were like 5/6, lmao) and she was being all serious/going along with the game and saying “run, there’s monsters!” Meanwhile I could not get off the bed because my chest hurt from laughing at static noises ^^;

One of my old houses had a backyard that ended where a cemetery began, but there was a chain link fence along the boundary line and on the other side of the fence a good covering of trees and bushes. A surprising amount of walkers/joggers liked to use the cemetery, even at night, so my friends and I would hang out in my backyard until it was dark, then we'd sit next to the fence and wait for people to pass by, and as they did we'd suddenly shake the fence and make random monster noises lol

Many screams, many laughs, and quite a few arbitrary threats.

-watching the new leaf trailers and promo in 2014, i wanted that game sooo bad. my mom let me go to gamestop after doing errands with her. i didn’t have enough money for it so she bought it for me!!

-looking for new leaf clothing QR codes on tumblr.

-playing roblox for the first time and playing as a guest back when that was a thing. playing welcome to the town of robloxia.

-looking at digital art online and being amazed + inspired to start making it myself.

Hey, that was me too! But with City Folk on the Wii. I even got the Wii Speak accessory. Aren't moms pretty cool sometimes? 😎 I hope to be cool like that if I have children some day, but they're gonna have to start with father Daniel's good ol' Famicom. Sorry kiddos, dad's got too cool of a collection for you not to experience the good old days of gaming. 😜
