Possible Town Corruption?

So a good friend of mine has a copy of AC:NL that he doesn't play anymore, and is selling it. I asked if I could buy it off of him because I wanted two copies of the game for a long time but didn't want to pay retail price for it.
I'd like to add that my first copy of the game is the psychical copy and the one I'm going to buy is psychical too.
Could I play both of the psychical copies on one 3DS, or would my town corrupt?

you can play both. I dont understand why youd think that would lead to corruption.

I don't know really, I've read a ton of corruption threads and it's made me extremely paranoid. I'm extra careful handling my own copy now because of it.

You can play 2 (or as many as you want) physical copies on the same 3DS. However, you cannot play 2 digital copies on the same 3DS because that would corrupt the first one.

Playing two physical copies on one 3DS is fine. Playing 100 physical copies on one 3DS is fine. There's no limit to physical copies because the saves are linked to each cartridge.

The only issues that occur is trying to get multiple digital copies on one system. You can't do it, and if you try to mess with it or your SD cards, you'll end up with a dead town.
