Possible secret mover?

So I can normally estimate when a villager will ping to move, it always seems to be every 4 days, sometimes 5 and sometimes I will have someone ping two days running. And I always get a mover either on the day a new villager arrives or the day after at the latest. But Rudy moved in 3 days ago now and I still haven't got a mover....nobody has mentioned anybody moving either and I've been around all my villagers several times for pings. Is this normal sometimes? I'm just worried I'm going to load up tomorrow or the next day and have Isabelle tell me somebody is leaving....just never waited so long for a moving ping.
Just looking for some reassurance really!

You could try talking to villagers in your town a lot, and if someone is moving they will mention it.

I've been doing that they usually do mention when somebody is moving but there's been nothing....
Which is why I'm worried, since a mover is overdue now. Was wondering if it's possible somebody will leave without ever pinging or anybody mentioning it

Have you got more than one character? The one day, my Mayor talked to Marshal and...nothing. When I loaded up End (the Mayor's brother), he was pinged by Marshal who said he was thinking about moving. I was so lucky to stop Marshal that way. Try with a different character and see if anybody pings then.

absolutely that's possible. there are good guides here at the forums you can search for that explain all the different villager rumors, and lists which ones they mention (by villager type) when nobody is thinking of moving. when you get one of those rumors, you still need confirmation from a second source that there's nobody thinking of moving (to make sure the first villager isn't thinking about it). I pester my villagers until i get a move-out rumor; or, two "non-moving" rumors; or, at least three villagers that say they can't talk anymore...
