Possible first camper glitch

Hi everyone,

I recently started a new island and decided to tt a day back then forward (back to normal time) to get my first camper to appear, but something weird happened.

My first camper was Spike (cranky villager), not a smug villager like it's meant to be, but he had the high pitched voice of a smug villager and the same dialogue. Spoke to him again about moving in and his voice has changed to the deep cranky voice but still had the smug dialogue.

I'm asuming he's still a cranky villager as I haven't seen anything about a personality change online, plus the deep voice.

Has anyone else had something similar happen? Attached photos of him with the smug dialogue.

When talking to Nook Cherry was also considered male

I wasn't trying to explain it. I was trying to discretely bump the users post after moving it from another board.

Yeah this is a glitch I believe, I got Spike as a random move in and he's a cranky villager. I heard that when they move in they revert back to their normal personality?

I imagine the dialogue is just because a smug is meant to be your first camper so there's no other dialogue they can use, but the voice change really threw me
