Possible cycling glitch? <help me>

Hey y’all.

so I’ve been cycling for about two real time weeks. I have followed a pretty simple method that has worked up until today and yesterday after the update without fail.

basically, I start on 4/1, then TT forward to 4/27 and, from there, go in increments of 2 days Forward until I see a villager with the thought bubble.

Enter Dierdre.

I have been cycling to try to get either Phoebe or Reneigh as my uchi villager. Dierdre pops up instead, and although I’ve had two villagers move in AFTER her, she is REFUSING to show any thought bubbles. I have tried this method over 50 times today, resetting every time the thought bubble appears over a villager I’d like to keep.

to my knowledge, the only villager “protected” from getting this thought bubble was the latest one to move into your island. Am I wrong in this? i’m losing my mind I just want phoebeee

edit: I don’t own any amiibos so I can’t force her out like usual. my next method was to try my luck with campsite villagers to see if they would select her to move, but I’ve only had two so far with no such luck :’/

I think you're just getting a pretty bad amount of luck at the moment. You know how games are with random stuff.

that’s strange!
i did have to reset 40 times to get marina out once, so maybe it’s just bad luck?

It's honestly just bad luck. I had Stella asking to move out 15 times (with TT) and the other 8 villagers asking around twice each before the villager I actually want to leave finally had the thought bubble.

I also believe the most recent villager CAN ask to move (happened to my friend as well). The new villager only settled in for one day before asking to move out lol.

I’m happy to report that Ed the horse camped in my campsite and after 10 mins of trying to persuade him thru that dumb card game, RNG actually threw me a bone and he’s taking Dierdre’s place
