I personally prefer Gala because of the flowers that you mentioned. That said, from how you described things, it sounds like Poppy would fit your town better. I can see what you mean in terms of both of their houses though I'd still probably pick Gala anyway.

I have Gala on my island and am planning on moving her out soon to replace with Fauna... it's tough though and I've been putting it off. Gala is such a sweet pig.
