Police Station Placement Help!

I just got the request for the police station and the spot i want to build it puts it only one square away from the train tracks, and every time i try to place it there Isabelle tells me it's too close to the tracks. But i know it can be placed with only one space in between because i've seen it in a dream town. Why won't my game let me? If any one had this same problem or was able to build it that close please help!

I have mine like that. Is there anything else in that area that could be stopping it? Rocks?

No, at first i thought i might have it too close to the stones surrounding the train station, but even when i tried it farther away it wouldn't work...

Mine is only one space away too -- maybe you're actually standing too close?

try laying a 3x3 design on the ground where you want it to go, then stand in front of the design -- I do this a lot and it helps me with placement.

I ran into this issue when building my police station as well. It's kind of picky on where you stand and talk to Isabelle. I had to stand a bit further down from the train tracks than you would expect in order for it to work.

Try taking a step back one at a time until the preview shows the correct placement. Unless something else is getting in the way, it should work.

I managed to create a bus stop 1 space away from the train station. It's definitely possible, just work on your placement when you ask her. Snow's suggestion sounds really good, give it a try!

My police station is only one space from the tracks so its totally possible but it did take me ages of moving my character ever so slightly to finally get the perfect placement.
