Police Station help!

Okay, so I basically got ACNL at Christmas, and I know nothing about the buildings you can get and upgrade. Obviously, I have Shampoodle's, Kicks, the Dream suit, and Club LOL. How do I get other buildings such as the Police Station and the Coffee shop?

Well:

Your villagers have to suggest the police station. If you are lucky they suggest it today, tomorrow, or maybe over 4 months. You can't do anything about it. (but in this link you can find a easy way to get pwps sooner http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?260353-Easy-way-to-get-pwp-s )

Do you already have the 2nd museum floor? You can get the 2nd museum floor by donating at least 20 things at the museum. To get the cafe, you have to donate 50 things to the museum and have the 2nd museum floor for at least 7 days.

Like others have said, the police station is a project that is randomly requested by your villagers. It was a few months before I was able to build mine. If you'd like an informational guide for the game, Thonky is a decent resource.

Unfortunately not. Still need to get some art pieces. Hopefully when Red comes into town, I can get some then and get the second floor. Unless of course, it's forgery like last time.

one of the pieces Redd sells will be genuine, at least from my own experience

you can also buy art pieces from villagers too, but you won't know if they are authentic or not until you make the purchase; so far I've had smugs smelling suspicious art pieces to me for an overpriced amount of bells; you can haggle with the uchis, and the crankies will sell one to your at around 3000 bells

Thonky.com's ACNL guide has a page dedicated to Crazy Redd's gallery. It includes pictures to help you tell real from fake. Saves you a good bit of bells and time when you can tell them apart.

The replies you've gotten are good and I don't have much to add, except to say that PWPs that you can get by pinging (like the police station) can be unlocked more quickly if you do the pinging trick. Just empty your inventory or fill it with useless items that villagers won't buy from you, like flowers, and then go out swimming in the sea. You don't have to swim, just wait in the water at least 5 minutes and then go back to your town. The first villager you see will ping you about something. You can repeat this as much as you'd like, but keep in mind that you only get one PWP ping per day. I don't use this trick a lot but it might help if you're in a hurry

It helps to be good friends with your villagers, they started to suggest the PWPs with a higher friendship level in my town.
