*This is my first time posting a thread so if I posted this in the wrong section or did something incorrectly plz let me know so I can try to fix it*
As a major pokemon nerd I have always loved playing games in this particular series, it is practically my childhood go to and even now it still is. Guess some things never change. Anyways we all know that the pokemon games are kinda easy (barring usum) on a normal run so I enjoy doing challenge runs to keep it interesting and my particular favorite is the nuzlocke challenge.
I thought it would be fun for any nuzlockers out there to post their nuzlocke stories on here since that was what the challenge was originally about. Feel free to talk about any unexpected pokemon that you have fallen in love with in a certain game (along with the rules if you choose so, and nicknaming theme if you had one) and what happened to attach you to that particular pokemon.
I will start with my current Scarlet nuzlocke run. Classic two rules are in effect as are level cap, set mode, no buying from Poke marts (rely on what I find) and no legendaries/mythicals. All three starters were banned since they are all equally broken so my poco path encounter was my starter. My encounters are the first tera pokemon from a den that I interact with in each area. If a tera den does not spawn there then we do the old fashioned run around with your eyes closed til you hit something method. After every gym I unlock something that makes things slightly more bearable. 1. Two major healing items per battle 2. Candy grinding permitted to speed up grinding 3. Move relearning 4. Held items 5. Tms. 6. Tera gimmick 7. Sandwiches (friendship) 8. Breeding but the egg has to hatch in a new area not counting cities. Essentially I control my encounter but it has to be somewhere new. Nicknaming theme is actually ac villagers.
For me the two pokemon I have fallen in love with has to be Blanche the Altaria and Lily the Lumineon.
Blanche-this cloud bird just wont die. As my oldest survivor currently she tanks hits like no tomorrow and has survived battles she had no business surviving such as the Team star mela fight which was a massacre of 4 deaths and the other two barely made it out alive at 2 hp with burn and 5 hp respectively. She has become my go to in any major fight bar the upcoming Grusha fight which she shall stay FAR away from and I will cry if she dies.
Lily- I honestly wasnt expecting anything from this fish. Her moveset was designed to cripple and be really annoying but she wasnt winning any major fights she was there for the sack if necessary. Not til Nemona showed up with her Skeledirge after Larry and started Torch songing away. I had just switched in Yuka (cloyster) and watched her be brutally oneshot by that move without a boost and I knew I was in major trouble. This fish came in and not only tanked what Yuka couldn't but did it at +1 Torch song tera fire boost while it was a critical hit took Skeledirge down and lived to tell the tale saving us all from another massacre. And she did it again prior to Tulip and took out lycanroc that time as well. She is now our certified Skeledirge slayer and I will be heartbroken if she dies. Also this fish tanked a stab thunderbolt under electric terrain from an elektross from a black text box trainer which I thought was impressive.
Anyways this post has gotten pretty long so I'll end it there for now but like I said, feel free to share you stories about your nuzlockes and your unexpected saviors during those runs.
