Again, Centro could be wrong. Its a small chance but this is "leak" season so this isn't confirmation that Excadrill, Starmie and Chandy are getting Megas. Keep taking those grains of salt until official.

Maybe. We'll see...I think the fidget spinner is most likely Starmie now.

Uuuggh! Centro is now saying that my brave little Falinks are getting a mega, maybe because it was first shown on that Pokeos website, I dunno, but now if it turns out to be fake I will feel slighted.

Centro has released a more detailed list of the new Megas. I am honestly shocked and sad that they would do this so early. I won't list any more of the new Megas because I have so many different thoughts right now...

I will spoil though that there is no Mega Flygon. Apparently. Still not confirmed. But if true it would make me very disappointed in GF since they had thoughts for making one for ORAS but couldn't decide at the time.

I'm desperately hoping that the rumors of Mega Scolipede are true, but I also think that Scolipede's default design is already perfect so it's hard to imagine any re-design being anything other than a downgrade of some kind. I'm hoping they prove my pessimism wrong; there are some really nice looking mega evolutions, so they could always come up with something really cool... or just coat him in spikes and give him a giant chin like Garchomp

I'm also a little surprised, if the leaks end up being true, that there aren't any Kalosian regional variants. It seems to me like poor Typhlosion will end up with the short end of the stick if it's the only Johto starter that doesn't end up with a Mega Evolution.

Spoiler: ZA Starter leaks

In my opinion, Typhlosion would actually have it better. Megas would only be in ZA and in Champions but Typhlosion will always have its regional form in every subsequent game as long as they decide to program it in. Regionals are superior because they are permanent. Megas do give better stats but they require holding the Megastone. The only exception is Mega Ray and Rayquaza is not in ZA according to the leaks. If abilities arent in the game, poor Meganium and Feraligatr won't even be able to use the full potential of their Megas much less the added types their Megas could bring. As long as both Typhlos can be added in future games, Typhlosion can always use its Ghost typing with any item.

I think this is the reason why the game is called Z-A. A lot of emphasis is on battling and rank scaling. For such a battle-centric game, hopefully Abilities will be in otherwise Megas like Mawile will just sit there in the data.

pretty disapointed with the leaks. obviously the lack of flygon made me very upset. i was absolutely certain they'd add it. Also, barbaracle? seriously? At least I'm happy to see clefable and eternal floette on the list. Some of the mega design leaks (idk if they're legit) sound stupid, like long legged starmie and...totodile headed feraligatr. what.

I really like the nighttime "battle city" concept and the rank climbing system in the story. I like a lot of the conceptual direction I've seen, I just hope the game's... performance... doesn't lag too far behind the creative vision. I didn't enjoy the way the NPCs were(n't) animated during the combat scenarios in today's footage.

I'm liking these Megas that have been put forward like Chandelure, Excadrill and Starmie. I haven't really looked farther than what's been posted in the thread here to keep things fresh when the game comes out.

If that Mega Falinks that C:Sphere posted about is real, YAY. I love Falinks and am so down for it to get a Mega Evolution.

It's a shame if all this about there still not being a Mega Evolution for Flygon is true. It was already a missed opportunity back in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire; not including it in a fresh, new batch of Mega Evolutions is just wrong.

I know it's not going to get one, but I really wish they'd give a Mega Evolution to Cacturne since it's one of my favorites but it's slow as molasses and has paper thin defenses and HP. Speaking of things that aren't going to happen, I also wish, with this return of Mega Evolution, that Regigigas could get a Primal Reversion that would get rid of its Slow Start Ability and it could not be absolutely useless for one brief, beautiful moment.

I'd also like some Megas for some other overlooked or mediocre Pokémon. I always liked Fearow more than Pidgeot and would like to see Fearow get one. I know this stuff isn't happening now, just saying.

Just bring back Mega Evolution permanently, Game Freak. Please and thanks.

The footage and information shared during this morning's Nintendo Direct looked really good. I was a bit hesitant with the previous video, but now I'm really looking forward to the game.

I mean, a good number of us weren't pleased when the three starters were revealed back in February, but it's been a few weeks now and it kind of just is what it is. I know I much would've preferred other starters, particularly Snivy and Torchic because of the following reasons:

I've been thinking about which other starters I would've liked to have seen in Legends Z-A instead of what we got with the two Johto starters.

Honestly, if we were going to have a Unova starter in this then I would've loved for it to have been Snivy. Give me extravagant, aristocratic Serperior. I've loved Serperior since Generation 5 and it would've been cool for it to get the spotlight here.

Meanwhile, if we were to have Snivy, to avoid double Unovan starters and having this whole situation repeating, Torchic would've been a nice choice for this setting as the Fire-type starter. The Gallic rooster is staring you right in the face, Game Freak, and it is judging you harshly. Kalos is Pokémon France, for crying out loud.

There were other good options and nine generations of starters to choose from, so it still is disappointing that they went with two Johto starters. Especially if they ever do a Let's Go! set of games set in Johto and/or remake HeartGold or SoulSilver. But I think most of us are just kind of resigned to it after all this time. We don't have to like it, but it's too late in development and they've already revealed them publicly. No going back now, unfortunately.

At least the game looks fun despite that.

Well...Primarina is already good on its own. I think Feraligatr with a Mega would only help improve it. Emboar and Meganium also need Megas too. Seems fitting if I'm honest. As much as I love Serperior, it with Contrary is pretty good. Meganium with Leaf Guard...not so much.

dragonite and starmie are legit two of my all-time favorite pokemon (dragonite is my #1 and starmie very well is my #2)
lets hope they don't botch the designs though, as tyranitar is one of my all-timers as well and they got his a$$ IMO

and potentially pouring out some pacifico for my guy flygon, there's absolutely no way he's about to get shafted again??
flygon is arguably the leading candidate to get a new mega if you're going off most requested and not only that, but its actually a pokemon that could use a mega! i'd put my dragonite bias aside and set aside his potential mega form if it meant flygon got one (as long as starmie still gets one though hehe)

All of the Megas in the Z-A files that were discovered in the Tera Leaks have now been physically described online. I won't share anything here but I think I am comfortable which Megas I'll be using so I will leave it at that. Hopefully they added more Megas or maybe improved on the leaked designs in the final product. I'll wait now for the next Pokémon Presents but I am still cautious whether or not this game will compare favourably with Arceus.

I want to see the player customization, already! There were a lot of boutique icons seen on the minimap in the latest footage.
I feel like it must surely be an improvement from SV.

I am feeling more optimistic about my own situation after reading this recently, though:

On Pokémon Legends: Z-A the Mega Evolutions work like an ultimate in fighting games: you must first charge your Mega Energy by battling normally with any of your Pokémon, and once it becomes full, you'll be able to Mega Evolve one of your Pokémon for a limited duration.

If this is true, I can understand if there are a lot of people who dislike this, as it would limit their time with their mega, but for someone like me who is feeling apprehensive about what their fave mon may become, it's nice that I can just occasionally see my Falinks do their likely cute and comedic "super mode" while not having to always battle with their Mega form active at all times in order to get the most out of them. If that makes sense.

Right? I was hoping to see some different clothes or a boutique in the video, but alas. Hopefully they'll have a nice selection. It'll be nice to have trainer customization in Kalos without having to wear a hat at all times. Unless....don't you do it, Game Freak.

Indeed. There are no bad Falinks, only Falinks being silly little guys. If they wanna be goofy goobers, it's cool, they're living their best life.

Going to have to see how the temporary Mega Evolution stuff plays out in practice. That description has me a bit apprehensive though. Here's hoping for the best.

Apparently there are, at least thats what Centro says. If customisation is at least SwSh level this game will be miles ahead of SV.

Mega Skarm is my favourite so far based only on the descriptions. Mega Feraligatr's seems strange but I plan on sticking with Totodile as my starter to see what it ends up looking like.
