I'm personally kinda excited for this, I can't wait to hear more details about this. Kinda disappointed that they needed a whole press conference for that a lone though.

Definitely looks interesting, but I feel like the trailer made it look a lot more grand than it actually is. I'm expecting just the basics of Pok?mon, except you have to walk around to catch them which is neat. (Unless there's country/continent exclusives that would be dumb I'm not going halfway around the world just to get one of my favorite Pok?mon on a phone app. Nope.)

this looks amazing :D if it is really going to be like this..but maybe this is a start for something bigger for pokemon.

and poor MEWTWO...he got bullied by everyone.

I like the idea, but that video showed pretty much nothing in terms of the actual mechanics of the app, unless somehow Pokemon has developed an app that lets you experience surround virtual reality without some sort of headpiece.

I suspect that the app will be somewhat like the virtual reality app on the 3DS just with Pokemon models but probably without the intense cinematic effects xP.

I'm sort of looking forward to this, I found the dream radar a bit annoying and difficult to capture Pokemon but hopefully Go will feature the more traditional capture system.
Here are some of my thoughts on the details Serebii has posted:

Edit @ 07:18: Go around and use the Augmented Reality to find various Pok?mon in various areas. Meet up for various small fests for battling and so forth.
Small fests probably mean organised official meet ups in major cities which won't happen in every country and the majority of fans will miss out, hopefully people can arrange these fests themselves so people in smaller towns can still take part but they will prolly miss out on event Pokemon...

Edit @ 07:20: Junichi Masuda is assisting in creating locations, music and so forth.
Hopefully this will mean there will be some main game esque gameplay involved with npcs to battle with? That would add a little more meat to the game's bones.

Edit @ 07:21: Pok?mon Go will link to the main games in some way
Being able to send your Pokemon and/or items over to the next generation of games? This may mean some of the Pokemon will have their HAs or Egg moves/moves they can't normally learn?

Edit @ 07:24: Pok?mon Go comes with a device you can attach to your wrist. It's called Pok?mon Go Plus which connects via bluetooth and notifies the player of any nearby Pok?mon
Ugh, not another thing to put on my wrist :P I wonder how you are meant to get this then? Will we have to register our address online so they can send us this before we can start playing, just imagine the wait times to get it... Hopefully you can still play without this as I can see a lot of people not being to get one for whatever reason... Will we have to pay for it and if so, how much?

Pok?mon Go is free to play but has in-app purchases
Oh joy, I'm going to guess that instead of hearts we will get, say, 10 Pokeballs to use and once we have used all of them we will have to wait all day for them to refresh or we can buy 10 great balls with real money which we can use instead. Don't forget, it'll cost you a fiver for that potion to heal your little Pikachu! :D
Seeing that it is free to play really makes me hope that you don't need that wristband to play, since that will probably cost a fair bit...

I really hope they don't make some Pokemon country exclusive, even if they are location affected (e.g. Rock types only in the mountains or rocky areas, water types only near rivers or at the beach, etc.) some people will only be stuck with city Pokemon or field Pokemon. I'm lucky in that I live near an old quarry site (some rock and ground types maybe?), tons of fields, a woodland area, a river and a beach so I'd be able to see a fair few Pokemon but I have friends who only have skyscrapers and concrete all around them will they just be stuck with their Meowths and Grimers?

Either way, I'll give this a go, especially if you can send the Pokemon over to the new games...

It'll probably be a massive battery drain, haha.

Also, the accessory looks silly, hope it's not the final design....

One step closer to pokemon snap in real life :0

Location exclusive Pokemon include:

Combusken: All Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants worldwide.
Meloetta: Ariana Grande 2016 Tour
Lopunny: The Playboy Mansion
Mew: Ethiopia
Garbador and Trubbish: The 2016 Republican National Convention

More location specific Pokemon are expected to be announced soon. Stay tuned

I'm just wondering how the **** we'll catch Giratina.

Also Lanturn might be a bit troublesome.

Dang I better start saving up money to be able to start traveling around the world so I can be able to catch them all XD..

I feel like that was a commercial for a cure for a major disease, the way it was uplifting and inspirational.

Personally, I think it looks kind of weird, espically with the wrist thing. I wouldn't mind using it if were just like 'Oh look, an animated pickachu in your microwave, tap the virtual ball to catch it!' Like if you were using your phone's camera to look through and the Pokemon appear onscreen. But I don't really want to walk around with a thing on my wrist and pretend to catch virual monsters irl, I'll stick to the games.

You might not have to. The trailer on,y showed pokemon in the first gen, so you may on,y be able to catch the first 151 pokemon.

tbh it would be cool if pokemon were exclusive to certain environments, like parks/rivers etc.

And hopefully this isn't a f2p/p2w situation, I'd rather buy the game up front
