Pokemon Anime Discussion Thread

1. (Note - If this should go in Brewster's Cafe, then please move it there. I was perplexed as to whether I should post it there or in this Nintendo section)

2. So the Pokemon XY anime was revealed. So far, it was confirmed that Ash was screaming he will be the champion on the plane to Kalos (lol), while he found out about Kalos from the Decolora Islands. Are these two events related?

4. Things I want to see in the Pokemon XY anime:

Ash traveling with Alexa and possibly another guy character.
Ash is at least not clueless about mega evolution by the end of the anime.
Ash gets a little more serious about the league and wins more tournaments this time.

5. Pokemon: Origins is confirmed to be a short/special broadcast. It's currently known that it will focus on Pokemon Trainers Red and Green. Red is the counterpart of Ash for anyone that doesn't know.

6. Things I want to see in the Pokemon: Origins short/special broadcast

I want to learn more about Red and his rival's personalities.
I want to see if his pokemon choices follow his HG/SS final line-up.
I want to know how he became so good in the end.

Actually, good point there. The origins could end up being a movie.
I thought it weird that they cut it to a scene against Gary with Charizard vs. Blastoise. Though that could be like the dream sequence from the start of the old anime.

I noticed that too. Strange.

So it could either be a:

1. Movie
2. Short
3. Anime


I really hope it's an anime. I'm not going to get my hopes up though.
Did anyone know Red is the counterpart of Ash? I think it's pretty obvious; just stating it for anyone who doesn't know.

I hope it's not a short. That won't give time enough to show the whole gym story. I'm not even sure a movie could work 8 gyms in well without having to montage it.

The Origins will not be a full series; it's been confirmed to be a special.
There's some speculation that it'll be two 'episodes' long, so about an hour of content.

Where was it confirmed? I need a source before I'm going to start listening.

Oh, ok. They haven't updated the official Serebii site with it yet though; that's where I look. At least we'll get to learn more about Red and Green!

But there are multiple claims that it is airing every week for a month. Which doesn't match this.

Claims are basically the same thing as rumors. If Serebii says it isn't then it's most likely not.

/: Just rewatched the ad and it does end with a date of 10/02. (and a random 7. xD) So not sure where those claims are from.

But I would like to deludedly dream some more.

I'm so excited about Origins, the animation is slightly different from the ongoing series and I love it.

Ash has grown to become such a boring character to watch to be honest. So, it's nice to see this.

@Kippla: Sadly, I think Iris and Cilan are going to go follow their dreams after Ash leaves to Kalos, but who knows.

I think Alexa might be joining him in the Kalos region; not sure though

Alexa would be a good choice.

Yeah, I don't think there's been a photographer traveling with Ash before.
(Tracy was kind of one, but he did sketches instead of using a camera)
