SheepMareep
Actual Magical Girl
I noticed in the newest trailer that the players could equipt back accessories like what was introduced in pocket camp. Since then I have been wondering if some of the new features shown in pocket camp would be clues to what we will find in new horizons. Especially since we have seen other similarities such as the wider range of clothing types (different lengths and new designs) and even the addition of a new flower type.
For instance, the new wigs recently released look more like hairstyles you would be able to start with or styles youd be able to unlock later on through harriet. Since we did see different hair colors in the trailer I'm wondering if they will also add even more styles as well or the ability to get new styles we have not seen before after unlocking a salon.
The inclusion of sanrio characters in pocket camp also makes me think that we will be able to use those amiibo cards in new horizons as well unlike in happy home designer where you could not.
Gulliver's boat and the new ability to craft and ship cargo is also interesting and seems like it would fit perfectly into new horizons. Maybe this could be a new way to trade items to friends on different islands or a cute way to add to the selling and buying experience. Such as different shops pulling up to a dock each day and bringing with them cargo to sell. (Maybe this could be how you unlock the actual stores by interacting with the same shop multiple times and the npc deciding to set up on your island due to the renevue)
I am also interested to see if the creation of regular monthly events on pocket camp will have an impact on events. With acnl they had those few weeks or so where if you went to a nintendo spot with the game you got special items. Maybe there will be an upgrade from having to go to a specific area to having widespread online events.
Honestly pocket camp seems like Nintendos way of testing new features and seeing how the players react based on how much of the items are bought or how much excitement is created by certain items/events/changes. It's a pretty quick way to judge what will and will not be a useful addition to the game and give players the ability to get used to different mechanics that may be implemented. Sort of like happy home designers new method of placing items being added into acnl later on through an update.
