Plot Resetting

I'm plot resetting with Marshal at the moment, hoping he will end up in the exact spot I want.

What I am wondering here is how long does it take you guys to plot reset a villager in a spot you want, and did you get them in the "exact" spot you wanted? I've heard from a day to a week.

Also, is this too close to another villager's house for the exact plot I want?

It usually takes me a few hours, but I remember I reset for 2 days once because I don't give up until I get the plot in the exact spot I want. I have all my dreamies now so I'm glad I don't have to plot reset again!

Can a villager plot here where I have got it? Stinky's house is a bit to the left, but I think there is room? If it's not enough info I will take more snapshots, or you could visit my dream address (in my sig). I am plotting near where Rodney's house use to be.

It usually takes me a few hours, but I remember I reset for 2 days once because I don't give up until I get the plot in the exact spot I want. I have all my dreamies now so I'm glad I don't have to plot reset again!

I've personally never plot reset for that long (2 hours max I think), but I've also never had any exact spots I wanted villagers in; just general areas. I also don't think I'd have the patience and frustration-tolerance needed to get them into exact spots, haha.

Thank you, it's been 4 hours now and I am staring to lose patience and I am quite tired lol. I guess I will have to go with any area near I like, instead of being exact if he doesn't soon.

He's only plotted near the area once.... That snapshot I gave. :/

It's kind of like playing slots. You're hoping for one randomized outcome out of every single open space available in your town so it could take a really long time before it actually happens unless your town is really packed. The chances every time you reset is 1 out of the total number of places available.

If it's two squares away it's not too close. Beardo, Caroline and Lionel are two squares away from each other in my town (given Caroline's house is back farther) but if you wanted to do some decorating I would suggest moving him a couple more squares over. When I plot reset I never really have an exact location in mind, I just have a general -I'd like you to be around this area here please-. Except for Maple. I have an exact spot for her laid out, but I need freaking Freckles to gtfo before I can get her from my sister. :/ But that's a rant for another thread. With that in mind my plot resetting never takes too long.

Edit: Also in my town the way I have villagers/houses/pwps laid out there's really no where else for my villagers to go except for the two spots I have laid out for Maple and Lucky(though Marshal is there right now waiting to go to my second town). So I guess you can say I've cheated the system.

Like Munchlax said the closest you you can have two houses together is two squares. Each pwp and building has that "invisible barrier" where bushes and trees won't grow so the same thing applies to new plots.

I feel you though, I'm plot setting (it's been about half a day now, which is the longest I've ever reset. I'm starting to ose my patience tbh) for Deirdre right now. She's only set a plot in the area I want her once and it was into a spot I can't have filled until I build my bridge. Good luck though! He'll go there eventually, it just depends on your dedication and patience level.
