ive been plot resetting a villager for two days now, but theyve only gotten close to where i want them to be once. i know where i want them is possible, bc ruby is in an exactly similar spot, infact shes closer to the river than where i want this villager, but they keep going to the exact same area on my map. is there a reason they are inclined to try this specific area? im assuming it might be because this area is sparse of trees and is a wide open space, but i just dont get why they wont even go near anywhere else, very rarely do they even go to the bottom of the map. its incredibly frustrating, and i know it is POSSIBLE for them to plot where i want them, just im already starting to feel like thatll take way too long. at this rate i feel like i may be at this for WEEKS before i get them where i want them.

how long has it taken for you to get a villager to plot in an EXACT spot you had pre-laid out? what do you do when a villager is incredibly inclined to going to one spot? is there any fix for this? ive considered going back in time before they started plotting and planting some trees in that area to clutter it up and make it less appealing, do you think that would fix anything? thanks for any help/opinions you can offer!

Trees don't make any difference, I'm pretty sure. I would suggest putting an alt character's house in the area that the villager keeps on plotting in (TTing back in time, of course), to try and break the pattern. I was plot resetting with Lionel for 4 days, and he never did go where I wanted. :/
If you can put a PWP there too (like a fountain or something), that'll help.
Sometimes resetting takes three tries, sometimes it takes 300.

i know they can plot over trees, but i noticed a pattern that he was plotting in places without trees.

i will put a characters house there as well. i cant do pwps yet bc my town is very new.

update: set down the house and planted trees. hes still trying to crush as little trees as possible but still very stubbornly sticking to the same area on the top. i dont know why hes so stubborn about staying on the top level but there is no end in sight

edit** seriously hes completely avoiding the entire bottom center area of my town. he refuses to go anywhere near it. he will either go to the far left on the bottom or the far right on the top of my town, but he REFUSES to go even within the area id like my houses to be plotted like??? is there any reason

I believe they won't plot in the same acre if there are already three houses there.
From what I've read.
If there are already three houses there, he won't plot there.
Here is a reference, look the second comment

If there aren't already three houses, then it's probably just bad luck as to why he won't plot there.

ok, so here is my current map:

ive put red lines where i want him to go, and circled where he keeps going.
here i overlayed that guideline over my map:

so by the looks of that acre set up, shouldnt it still be possible for him to go somewhere in there? (which i know its possible bc he has plotted down there but only once and it wasnt aligned properly at all so i didnt take it, but it was technically within that "acre")

also maybe im wrong but if that acre map has any merit then shouldnt this map be impossible or is it perfectly aligned to where theres only 3 in each acre

It looks like he should be fine to plot then, it must just be bad luck that he isn't plotting where you want D:
The only thing I can suggest is making new characters and placing them there temporarily so he shouldn't want to go there.

And either that own is perfectly aligned for 3 per acre, or they hacked it. I'm not sure.

i remember the original poster of that map said that two houses had to be a bit to the side bc of rocks which bothered them, and u can see on the map they arent perfectly separated, so im assuming if it was hacked they would have just moved the rocks, so i guess they were just very fortunate it was perfectly aligned.

i already put one new character where i dont want him but he keeps working his way into the cracks. im considering just trying to settle for a new area and just rework my plan for my town.

I assume they did A LOT of resetting then.
Probably took forever.

That might be best. I know resetting can either be quick or takes hours/days.
It all comes down to how determined you are to get them to plot properly.
It might be easier to just choose a different spot for this guy, and then wait until you get get some PWP to place where you want to discourage villagers to plot in the future.
I know it's a pain but that might be the best plan for now.

yea, maybe i can just let my town look a little more naturally dispersed or something and just let them plot wherever as long as it doesnt disrupt my road system
