I adopted Julian yesterday, and in my impatience to get his house set up, I decided to change the date so I could get to work on plot resetting. It was kind of late, and I must not have been thinking clearly, because I ended up making a terrible blunder, for, lo and behold, Julian's house was already in place -- and in one of the worst locations possible. He ended up *right* on top of Stitches house, but diagonally, not side by side, which would have been at least a little better.

Now I am considering whether it's worth keeping him despite his poor location, or if I should allow him to move whenever he decides to ping and eventually cycle him back in (that 16 villager cycle is a killer though). I'm sure lots of other people have run into this problem - what did you end up doing when your dreamie moved into a less-than-ideal spot?

If you're willing to put in all that work to cycle him back in, then do it if his location bothers you that much! It'd be nice to see a picture just to see how bad it really is. If you're bothered by his location every time you look at it, it may be worth doing all that work to cycle him.

Ugh I feel your pain. I'm re-situating my town because I settled on a lot of villager locations (I plot reset but get tired of it quickly). I have all of my dreamies but I'm also getting tired of some of them and want some new villagers, so I'm trying to decide who can go. l; Julian is also in my town in a bad spot, I have a feeling he's going to be switched out for Marshal (or possibly another smug). There's no way I can cycle through 16 villagers without losing more I want to keep, so if they're gone they're gone unfortunately.

In your situation I usually try to make a little street/decorate it and kind of build around it, if it can be fixed and made to look nice. I've done this with some bad villager locations and they're okay. But if it's really bad and you're willing to cycle through again for him, I'd say go for it. Depends on how much it bothers you personally.

Thanks for the replies - good to know that there are people out there who can empathize with my little dilemma! I ended up doing what you suggested, Eldin, and have been busily trying to reconfigure my town in order to accommodate his location. I wish I had taken a photo before I started remodeling - not only was he awkwardly positioned next to Stitches but he also plopped himself smack dab in the middle of my path. I snapped one shot here, but it's not a very good angle, and again, it's after I did some tinkering.

But I really don't think I'm up to the challenge of cycling out 16 villagers -- and just look at how perfect he looks against my path designs; Julian absolutely HAS to live here!

Yay, I'm glad it worked out, that looks nice! c: At least he didn't set up right in front of a building or something, for a random spot it could be worse, haha.

Congrats on getting a dreamie!

Simple answer: Improvise.

I've had some villagers move in spots I didn't like, but I kept them there. Just switched some things around.

Personally, I'd just try to make the most of it. Patterns and decorations like flowers can make bad locations look nice. I wouldn't care much.

If it's really, really bad, you can always just move out that villager and cycle through 16 to get them back. I'd advise you to do this only if you have another villager you don't mind moving out, because your 10th move-in will always take a long time to ping (if they even do).
