Hiya so I was trying to plot reset Chief's house and his house was NO where to be found in my town. I searched my whole town for 4 resets and each time his house was not there each time. The next time I loaded up my town I went on my mayor and went forward a day now his house appears. Did I just plot reset wrong or is some type of glitch?

I think it could just be that it might take an extra day or so for the villager to plot rather than immediately plotting the next day :0 I don't think it's a glitch or anything wrong with the game

Hm you could be right. He wasn't a campsite villager so I don't know why he would take another day to come but that could be the case! (it's kinda ironic Chief told me he'd see me tomorrow when I adopted him lol)

Ah that happened to me too twice, one was a few months ago and one was just the other day with Fang s: I've been wondering if it was a glitch too, but I did TT forward after not being able to find Fang's plot (resetted like 5 times first to check before TTing to the next day) .. then bam, his entire house is there!

when you plot reset you have to save with the new save file ...if you accept what you see.
ie - you might plot reset and have no new villager - if you are happy with no villager, then save with the new save file and then reload with the mayor.

If you don't save with the NSF, then when you load with the Mayor things can change - so instead of no new villager plotting, a villager may have appeared.

You always have to save with the NSF - its easy to forget, not sure from your opening post whether you did or not.
If you did, then you must have missed the new villager plot - that's easy to do as well.

I never TT around a plot reset - I like to keep things simple. Although the TT in itself would not cause what has happened, its either not saving with the NSF or not finding the plot.

That's what I did but I searched my whole entire town and his house was not there. I did everything correctly I believe

I wonder if it is a glitch too or some type of bug..

maybe it was his way of saying, "Yo, instead of follow this certain line of code that every single villager has followed up to this point, I'll just wait a day and screw with everyone in the town I'm going to. I'm sure I'll be FINE!"

For most, it would be the end of this villager.

i think if you tt a day forward with the system settings clock, and create a new character you would have still been able to plot reset.....but i'm not sure

It happens sometimes. I think one of my villagers Willow (long gone) did this exact same thing. I searched everywhere for her house and it was no where to be found. I know most villagers that you scan in via Amiibo should be there the next day, but I've noticed some don't do it immediately. I don't know if it's a glitch or not.

Do you guys happen to know what date or day it was? Maybe they skipped a day because it was a holiday or whatever.

Hm I don't think it was a holiday/special event when this happened to me.. could have been the solstice, but I'm not 100% sure.

Oh not a bug. When a villager says they'll be there "a day or two" they mean it lol, and learned the hard way :c so when I don't see the house the first day, I quit without saving and TT 2 days instead of one, but rarely happens

I've had a villager naturally move out and I amiiboed a villager out on the same day and the amiiboed in villager didn't plot for another day, yet I couldn't move anyone else in.
Just a weird glitch.

Actually I remember one of my amiibo move ins not coming the day after. I'm pretty sure it was on some Summer holiday to. So I had to move to the next day for them to show up. I don't know if that's always the case, but I'm sure holidays play an important part in playing priority over move ins coming the same day.
