This is not an exaggeration, I've been plot resetting for my 9th villager the past 2 days(227 times rn) hoping for my 1 of my last 2 koalas for my all koala town with the exception of an octopus and a pig. It gets really annoying when you get doubles.
it was very tempting to invite some of these villagers as they are really popular. I literally got julian's plot like 3 times and marina's 3 times. I saw marshal's, roscoe's, hopper's, stitche's, and many other villagers' plots but no koalas!:( Anyone else plot reset for 100+ times for their dreamies?

Doing it now, it sucks but I can't settle knowing that my favorites are out there. It always seems that you get the ones you don't want.

Then when you finally get one they choose the worst place to live.

I personally never plot reset for any villager I've ever gotten. It just didn't seem like that big of a deal to me where their houses went and plot resetting always looked like a ton of work.

I can understand if you're really set on having the town look a certain way with certain villagers and that's fine that you will reset 200+ times just to get it right, but are you having fun in the process? New Leaf is supposed to be a chill game you can just relax and play, but with resetting over 200 times, it just seems like it takes away the "relaxing" aspect of it. This is all just my personal opinion, and I'm not trying to say you should stop just because of how I feel.

With all that said, I really hope your wanted villager sets up in a good spot soon, that sounds really tedious :p

It's stressful and definitely not fun but once you get the one you want it's so thrilling!

I think the developers should have made a better system. We can place PWPs now and there are over 300 possible townies this random plot thing sucks. I understand the villager adopt thing but then you are forced to deal with the void. It's more tedious then egg hatching in Pokemon.

I think he's resetting for the villager and not where the villager is placed. I know that the title says "plot resetting" but from what he said, it sounds like he has been resetting to get a koala villager.

Good luck on this! I know how long it takes to get a villager that you want in your town ^^

Yeee, I plot resetted for a lot of my villagers in Moondust. I didn't mind it too much tbh! It did take absolutely forever, but I caught up on some anime since it doesn't require looking at the screen much. I hope you get the villager you want soon!! * O *

I understood that part, and people plot reset both for hours and hours. I'm just confused on if it's really worth it to someone since it seems so tedious. But box3d already said it is worth it when you finally get the villager you wanted.

Yee, I find it's pretty worth it in the end as well! It can take a really long time and it can get really frustrating, but once you get that villager it's like a big accomplishment (to me anyway.) Then after you're finished you can relax and be happy that you didn't give up! o:

I just did the math and there's a 2.5% chance each time I reset, which takes 5 minutes give or take to get one of the 2 villagers I want. I'll be leniant with the plot placement but there are certain areas that I just cannot allow a neighbour to move on to; like infront of a bridge or close to certain pwps, paths.

This is why I don't deal with cycling or plot resetting =P Too much things can go wrong, not to mention it can be very time consuming.

Monty's plot just showed up in one of those places I can't allow T.T

Omg yay, next try he was in a good spot :)

UPDATE*
I finally just got Melba the koala, after 249 tries! Thank you guys for your support!

Yay! Haha maybe now its worth it. When i try and plot reset , its only when i have someone moving in that i asked. I dont let my town get down to 8 without having a set person ready to move in:)

I have a question, how do you plot reset more than 24 hours? How do you time travel so its not the same day to load the time from isabelle?

I've been plot resetting Amelia for almost two weeks now. Getting tired of it because she always sometimes get close but so far away. On the plus side, I know where to build PWP's to make future villagers easier.

I usually use the 3DS' system settings to time travel to a whole new day to not have to talk to isabelle. When I woke up I just changed the system settings since it was the same day. :)

I hit the jackpot today! I first got Monty in a decent place and then Hazel took the plot exactly where Anchovy was :)

Yeah I think once you create a town the game picks certain areas that are more common for villagers to want to live. I had to build a sign where I wanted my cafe because they all seemed to love that. Now I have 27 PWPs so it's basically 3 areas now over and over with a random one every now and then.

I'm so pumped, only 3 more villagers to go and then I'll have my dreamies. Opal is going to replace Ankha, Coco's replacing Caroline and Erik will be my 10th! Hopefully I can find Coco and Erik in the campground though. I already have a lazy and normal villager.
I want to make Ankha my last move out though so I can give her to someone, so many people want her and I feel bad for the people who don't have millions to pay but I'm not dealing with the "void" until I have everyone I want.

Right now I'm resetting since yesterday and still I don't have either wolfs, Leonardo, Alfondo or Drago x-x

Ah, that works? I thought they weren't related to eachother because if you change your ingame time, your system time doesn't change, but it works the other way around?

^Yes. In-game change doesn't affect system time, but system time change affects game.
