Plot Resetting Blues

I've been plot resetting for Fauna for three or four days now. All day, every day. She's being so mean, rarely going where I want her, and when she does, she's one to the side or one up.

I have a few fountains around my town to block her from going places, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. I'm trying to get her in an exact 3x3 spot, and there's two that she can choose from. But, alas, she chooses neither. I've seen towns with villagers in exact spots before, and I really don't know what else to do.

I had been just hitting the home button, closing the software, and opening it up again. Then, I read a tumblr post talking about another method and 'breaking a pattern,' where you hit the power button, home button, then load it up. After a few times, a 'pattern' creates where the villager plots in the same three spots, but that doesn't seem to be happening to me? Fauna just plots at random. Regardless, I've been doing it, and completely shutting off my 3DS to break the pattern.

Anyway, I've rambled. Do any of you have any other methods, tips, advice, anything to help me? I've gotten too invested in this to quit now, but my patience is running thin. Fauna is killing me. :')

I had to do this earlier with Fang. I never got him in the location I wanted.

Today I tried getting Nan in Rowlett. After 3 hours, I ended up going with Daisy.

I was plot-resetting Filbert for 5 months. Filbert didn't move to the spot i wanted him in, but i finally put the quest to an end this month.

it took me 7 hours to plot reset Deirdre and now im working on Julian, so far its been about 3 1/3 hours. he's doing the same thing as Fauna, being just a couple spaces off :-(

also yeah, how DO people keep at it for day/weeks/months? do you set your 3DS clock back or something? cuz if worse comes to worst, i may just have to do that with Julian...

Erik was being stubborn with me too the other day, and I'm weak so I just gave in. Not a bad spot he's in, but it wasn't what I wanted.

This time I'm getting Genji in there no matter what. Plot resetting is such a pain...

I set my clock back so it stays on the same day, though I don't think it matters if you switch it or not. Just don't load up with your mayor!

gah i gave up and let Julian settle one row back from where i wanted him. that was the fourth time he sat there so i just assumed he was never gonna go up that one row :-( gotta replan my paths and other houses now, but oh well... it's not as bad as it could be.

I'm sorry. You just have to have patience!

i think 7 hours is my patience mark haha cuz i just realized i did this for just as long as i did with Deirdre (except she actually landed on a 3x3 i had set). hm. i think what i'll do is set up Yield/Caution signs in the places that everyone seems to love plopping their plot down on so much.

Fountains are the biggest destructible that you can create, so I would recommend plonking a bunch of those down.

i think the longest it took me was about a week for one villager, so i feel you. lol sometimes they just don't want to move into a specific spot and you wish you could go in game and smack them.

I want to Plot Resset yet Im afraid to incase I
make a big mistake.
My town is really cute and any mistakes are crucial
because I planned everything to perfection.
I need to get all cat villagers with equal ratios in gender.
No missing personalities.
Hybrids/trees/bushes/pathes all in order.

This has changed due to Puck moving in.

in cf, ww and af our towns had pre-designated villager spots
