I've just started plot resetting to have my villagers houses in places I like, but the horrible mud patches left by the house that's built then demolished are really ugly and off putting.

people who plot reset, how do you deal with the mud patches? I'm guessing you just put the house in the same place each time so there's only one mud patches instead of lots? any tips to get rid of the patches quicker??

I always put the house at the same place. When I know I won't be plot resetting for a while, I usually plant some trees on the mud. It usually disappears in a few weeks. :) You can hide it with flowers and by watering them daily, the mud will disappear even faster.

Mud patches, resistance is futile.

These can get annoying pretty quick since it ruins both the look of your town and makes decoration seem out of place. For the simplicity of it, i just plant flowers on it along with trees in order to make it seem like a regular part of the town.

But as a person who uses their disadvantage to an advantage, if the dirt patch is in a area near the path or in a area of future renovation; I remodel it.

For example, i turned a vile dirt path that seemed to interfere with my paths into a plaza with a fountain and street lamps.

But then again, i do the simplest solution and just plant flowers over them and refrain myself from walking over that area so it can grow back to its former glory.

Also some dirt patches will never grow back....they will permanently stay like it

When I plot reset (I don't anymore) I put the house always in the same spot but not any spot but where I plan to have a house or big pwp. So it won't be visible in the end.

Thanks for the replies, I already have two pretty awful patches out in the open, in terrible places because i never thought about the mud patches before, I have flowers on them and water them daily, hoping they finally leave.

For example, i turned a vile dirt path that seemed to interfere with my paths into a plaza with a fountain and street lamps.

ooh, this is actually a very good idea, I guess the cafe would cover the mud patch left by a house, especially if I surround it with flowers? I think when i plot reset in future I'll put the house where i want the cafe to be!

I'm pretty sure some patches are also there from the start and won't go away no matter what. But I could be wrong..

I made all of the mud patches as part of paths since I'm doing natural paths. You could try that!

Yeah basically when I plot reset I built the house in the same spot the whole time. I never did anything to get the grass to grow back I just didn't care and it grew day by day.

When I used to plot reset, I would build the house in the same spot, so I didn't worry about grass growing back until after I finished plot resetting for good. You could just plant flowers on the spot and water them daily. The easiest way is to time travel imo but if you're not into that, I'd just stick to the flower/watering method.

I wait for a villager to ask me to move out once I'm done with plot resetting, say no, then TT a month forward on the 3DS settings. Then I load my game now a month forward, save and quit instantly. Go back to the 3DS settings, set the date to the right day (a month backward), then load my fame. No villagers leave using that method (at least it's never happened to me) and the grass is regrown everywhere. I use it every couple months to regrow the grass I walk on. (I hate mud patches/dirt paths in my town.)
