Plot resetting a random move-in, and ugh. Two things:

1. I just want someone to commiserate with me, plot resetting is a pain in the ass. Soooo. Tedious.

2. Because it's a random move-in, the only thing set is personality type. (I'm getting a Jock). Now each time I reset, theoretically, both the plot location and the villager should change, but only the villager is changing. That is, it's a different villager every time, but the same plot location. I've been utilizing the pattern breaking trick and it's not changing at all.

It's not a terrible spot, really I can work around it, and honestly I'd rather have a great villager in a crappy spot than a crappy villager in a great spot. So should I just save with the first acceptable villager I get, or keep cycling through all the jocks to see if I can change the plot location too? What would you guys do?

Hmmm have you try powering the 3DS off completely, wait a bit, then turn it back on?
I've tried that in my plot resettings, and it helped.

Have you consider instead of resetting for your own villager, simple head over to the Villagers Trading Plaza to adopt one from others? Seems more...time-saving that way ^^;;
(who is your preferred jock, if you don't mind me asking)

But yes, it's very tedious. Very rewarding, but TEDIOUS nontheless.

There's already a plot, so if I log into my mayor to go get a villager then the plot will be stuck and there'll be no point picking up a new one :( And I don't think you can travel with a new character unless you save, right?

And I'm hoping, ideally, for either Boone, Kevin, Quetzal, or Tarou, mostly for aesthetic/theme reasons, but I wouldn't turn down Bill or Coach either.

But I've got it sitting turned off now, I'll pick up again in a few minutes and see if that helps, thanks!

Yes plot resetting is a pain, but it?s so worth it c:
You are stuck in a pattern, what can help is taking a break, turning off the power off of the 3Ds, and play another game and then try again. This helped me and the random villagers chose another spot to plot their houses. Or just invite a villager from another town, it
is faster because the villager isn?t random of course. Good luck!

Lmao fyi

Quetzal and Tarou aren't in New Leaf. Both haven't been since Gamecube days and Tarou was Japan exclusive.

That just happened to me a bit ago with Lionel, but he's an invited move-in, so I never expected the villager to change. But his house kept appearing in the same spot and I was worried I messed up with resetting. It finally moved though x_x Now he's just being a stubborn jerk.
