(currently plot resetting for julian to plot down his house on the spot i made ready for him.. 12 hours so far T_T)

I'm wondering, if you plot reset over several days, does time "pass" in the actual game too? Like I'm scared if a villager wants to move out but my mayor isnt there to tell them to stay or something because I can't load up my mayor while plot resetting, right. And then I load up the game after i'm done plot resetting and a villager is gone.. can that happen or?

From experience plot resetting over a week, I can say yes. The game days still progress on even if you never actually start up your mayor or any other character. It's basically the equivalent to taking a hiatus over time during which it is possible for another villager to want to move/move out. To lessen the chance, I usually go about adopting and plotting villagers after I've already rejected a ping. The same thing works when you want to time travel over long periods.

i just threw a villager out to make room for julian so it shouldnt be a ping for at least 5-6 days then.. okay phew. but. if you do it for a long time for like a week, what if you tt back to the first day you started plot resetting? or will that screw up the villagers house? im not sure lol

i tried tt'ing back once in a previous town of mine and it screwed it up for me; tt'ing backwards in time, no matter how far you go (so it seems, at least in my experience and from what i've read) it's always like the equivalent of one day passing. i'd probably try to avoid doing that

You could TT back within the same day - don't go back before 6am. (when the day starts). Make sure you have the date, day & time correct before you load.

I only TT with the system clock, change the system clock before I load the game, the game takes the time form the system clock as it loads. I keep both times the same.
I could then plot reset by keep playing the same time within that one day.
I've never done this so not 100% sure it would work.

I've no experience at all with changing time with Isabelle at the front screen, others may be able to tell you if the same thing will work as with system clock changing (I think it may well do so).

Personally I would not plot reset for any length of time, when I've done it, I've accepted any location that isn't really terrible. Makes life easier.

Ooof, getting into a specific spot is super hard, I ususally shoot for a general area. XD I don't know about days, but I would just keep trying to go back, like katysu said. Go back to the mayor, go to 5:58 or whatever time you do and then go again. After a day doesn't the villager auto-plot? I've never taken more than a day to plot so idk

Personally I would keep the date the same until the plot is set. So if you don't set the plot today, pick it up tomorrow and change the date back to today's date after 6am (use the system clock so that you don't need to load your mayor). That way none of your other villagers will register to leave, as it will continuously be the same game date for them.
