Plot Reset Pattern Trick?

I just got into ACNL again and I was reading about plot reseting; some people have said that villagers won't move in on top of patterns, is this true? ;u;
If not is there any easier way since in the amiibo update to get a villager to move where you want them to move?

Yup, it is true, villagers won't move on top of patterns since the update. If you've covered your entire town in patterns, then they won't have anywhere to plot so that's the only time they'll plot ontop of patterns. Other than that, no. There's not any easier way to move villagers where you want them to, as far as I know unfortunately.

Yes villagers don't plot their houses onto paths/patterns now.
