I've been trying to do plot resets for my villager but... is the following possible?

ooooooxxxoooo
oooooooxooooo
ooooooooooooo
xxxooxxxooxxx
xxxooxxxooxxx
xxxooxxxooxxx
ooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooo

xxxxxxxbbxxxx

Blue is where I want the new plot to be placed.
Red is where 2 other villager plots are placed.
Brown is the bridge.
Turquoise is a pond on top and river by the bridge below.

From numerous plot resets in the past, there has never been a house that landed in that area below the pond and above the bridge... so I am getting worried that it won't work out or if I just don't have the luck for it yet.

From what I know, the villagers can plot by the bridge closer than building a bridge by the plot... And that 1 space is needed to surround the house, and maybe 2 for the front of the house. But I have 4 spaces in front between the desired placement + the bridge..

Any ideas? Do I need to deconstruct the bridge in order for it to work? :(

I feel like it should be possible. I've had villagers plot one square away from my bridges before. The villagers can plot close to bridges but you can't build a new bridge close to them (which is dumb but whatever). Villager houses can really squeeze into small areas, they just need more space in front of the house than behind it. I have houses that are four squares away from another house in front of them. So I'm like...80% sure that placement is possible.

Yeah I'm 100% sure that houses can be 3 spaces away from another house directly in front, just not sure if bridges have their own spacing rule even after they're built @@

When you say one square away from your bridges - is it vertically where houses are above the bridges or the other way? Because i think i've seen houses plant 1 space away from a bridge as well but the house was in front, so i've just never seen it the other way around yet.

It's one square down and two squares to the side from the bridge actually, my mistake. It is below the bridge though so that might not help you as much. I'm actually plot resetting right now though, and if I see a plot like the one you mentioned in my town I'll let you know.

Right after I posted the plot I got was 7 spaces away from the bridge in front of it. I'll still let you know if the plot gets any closer than that though. I'm sorry I'm not much more help x-x

Nooo it's fine, really happy for you to even discuss this with me! @.@ i've been researching and reading up a lot of guides but they're not specific enough for my case. And some even say that for no reason, some plots just simply don't appear on certain areas so it's like ughh.

Thanks and good luck with your plot resets!

The problem is that the differences between where you can build a bridge and where villagers can move near a bridge are so different.

I just got a plot one left and 3 up from a bridge. I don't know if that helps either, really.

Hahaah yeah. so by 1 left, you mean the right side of the plot is one space to the left of where it meets the vertical alignment of the bridge right? If that's the case, it might make my case work because technically houses should have 1 safety space around it? * _*...

Yeah, it was something like this

xpx
xxx
xxb

p being the plot and b for bridge. The bridge was one that was kind of slanted though so I'm not sure if it made a difference.

Lol! don't even get me started with diagonals now, hahaha. but yeah i have noo idea, i don't have any parts of my rivers that can be diagonal.
